HoustonZ
Today I got to cruise around town in a childhood favorite car, the Acura NSX. The small engineering firm that I work at has a large collection of amazing cars, NSX, 996 twin turbo, 928, audi rs6 to name a few. Today I got permission to take this baby home. It drives spectacularly. The car is almost as light as a Datsun. The suspension is firm and very very planted. No power steering to take away from the driving experience. Manual 5spd of course. The torque is good from 3k-8k. The large powerband makes it so much fun in the city. The interior is fairly plush, and overall its a nice car to just cruise around in. Totally civilized and at no time did I get the feeling it was trying to kill me (like the 996). To quote Ferris Bueller. "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." jeffer949
They are nice cars. A little under powered from the factory imo but still it has such a nice smooth power band. Id love to get one on a road course. My friend has one and i actually got into an accident while driving it like 3 years ago. Well i was waiting in line at a drive through at like 2 am. (every one was drunk and he was sober and his car was blocking me in. So i took it lol. But as i was saying i was in line at a drive through and a guy wanted to get out of line and he backed up right over the front of the car. Here it is after it finally got fixed with some upgrades. He went with the secound generation hid's and the new airdam and the ducted hood. He then decided to change the car from silver to this. Drax240z
Nice cars, underpowered from the factory was my take too. You've got all the "exotica" of a high end European sports car, but it's just not fast enough to fit the mold. However, with the drivability and comfort of a Japanese commuter, it's in pretty unique company. They are a very nice starting point for a project IMHO, a project that includes more power and a slightly louder exhaust.
HoustonZ
My thoughts exactly. Its a great car, but needs about 100hp more to be a real thrill. I was commenting to a buddy who was in the car that the exhaust doesn't really come in until about 5k rpm. A less restrictive and louder one would be great. DavyZ
"Que bella." --- Ferris Bueller "He should have never left the keys in the car..." --- Ferris Bueller I would love an NSX as a DD, but the prices are too high for what you get in an older one (read: what I can "afford"). Nice cars nonetheless. You are one lucky guy Davy
m4xwellmurd3r
Hmmmm I don't know why I never thought of this, but a V8 swap into an NSX would be pretty bad ass. Set it up with 180 degree headers to get a nice tone and it would make one mean japanese exotic
ZUL8TR
It is real easy to supercharge these bad boys and they will scream. All that weight over the rear tires makes them stick like glue on acceleration. There is a white one in Indiana that is about to hit the market, although there is active interest and it may never actually make it to market. Expecting to see $30-35k for it with its low miles. Mikelly
Drove two... Didn't care for them. I've never "clicked" with Accuras, or the Honda brand... don't now why, but I didn't... The 996TT however, it had me at Hello! ...There really is no substitute... Mike
jeffer949
Yeah they are pretty quiet stock. My friend has a full titanium exhaust on his. it is not very loud and has a good rumble at idle. even from in his house you can hear it from 2-3 blocks.
