norstar
Bare with me... I don't know squat about turbos. I was thinking about adding a turbo to my 260 carb'd engine. Anyone have any opinions on this kit or can you direct me to a better option: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-260Z--T3T4-TurboCharger-Turbo-Kit_W0QQitemZ350256808039QQcmdZViewItem Thanks
MAG58
I'm going to call shenanigans on that for a few reasons. 1. I'm about 99% sure that if you tried to push 485whp through that turbo it would just turn into a hot air blower. 2. That downpipe seems to be clocked in the completely wrong direction if you're using a stock L28ET mani. 3. Not a fan of chinese turbo's. 4. That fan looks entirely too small to cool an L unless it's constantly moving. Moving on... Search for "blow through turbo" and I'm sure you'll get plenty of results here. If you were going to stay carbed though, I'd go for at the very least SU's as the square top's that came on 260's sucked. The quickest and easiest route to get a turbo charged Z though, in my opinion is to find a running (ish) ZXT doner car and stuff all the parts in your Z. Also, the Turbo FAQ in the FAQ section will ramp up the learning curve for forced induction

I would most likely keep it set at 10-12 psi... I think they are getting the 485hp when set to 25psi... ugg... Thanks for the info.
turboHLS30
dont trust EBAY kits they're crap my dad had a customer that bought one and asked my dad to put it on and my dad ended up having to make new piping and rewelding flanges and all kinds of stuff he basically had to make a new kit so dont trust it
skib
don't waste your time with any of those E-Bay "kits"
e_racer1999
Also, that kit is for fuel injection. Ignore it completely.
Pyro
first convert to efi or do something like this http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1073369#post1073369 in any case, change your head to a P79 or P90 to drop compression I would use a stock turbo manifold and turbo setup. run stock boost for a while then add an IC and up the boost. Do it in steps.
LowCarbZ
Been thinking about going this route as well. Just trying to hunt down the right ZXT donor car or even the parts. I've got spare heads and such. Seems hard to find the 280 Turbo stuff up here.
Pyro
don't need a donor car. you just need some turbo parts. first convert to efi. Megasquirt or sds or similar. then bolt on turbo stuff.

Challenger
Good thing to look at, how much of that stuff is specifically designed for a 260z?
