auxilary
This is a good starting point... much thanks to capt_furious for knowing what/where to look and find stuff, and historical knowledge. Granted, this is an odd collaboration, but the costume is not designed for reenactment or to be period correct. Also for obvious reasons I will not be using a real Mosin Nagant. Stay tuned... eec564
Not bad. Where are you going trick-or-treating?
SuperPickle
An e-tool (old), bedroll, and canteens would probably go a long way toward 'finishing' the look, without straining your budget. Personally, I'm going as House, MD. All I need is a cane and some grey hair dye.
SoCalJack
I am probably going as a flasher. Ill get a large over coat, and make 'censored' signs and attach them to a black bikini. Let the flashing begin!!!!

I'm afraid with all the red necks around where I live if you where to show up at there front door, you might get a gun bigger then yours pulled on you! eec564
eec564 and auxilary trick or treating Works for me. Once I get a little disposable income and can afford about 50 rounds each of .30-06 and 9mm, along side a 250box of .22 LR, I'm going to organize a range day with friends. -Eric
bschiltz
You should roll around in the mud a little, maybe crawl through some briars or whatever thorny plants you have out in California to get a more "broken in" look
jasper
With that costume, I'm thinking it will only take about 3-5 minutes for a SWAT team to arrive. Just remember to duck and cover...
