BayAreaZT
Has anyone ever towed another vehicle with their V8 Z? I really want to get rid of my celica thats not running and if the buyer cannot find a way to transport it, would it be possible for me to tow it with my Z? If so, what would be the best way to do it.
Mike C
I'm sure it could be done, but be careful. Especially if you have stock brakes. If it is an older Celica back when they were light it would be more likely. Don't you have a buddy with a truck? You can rent one of those $20 a day trailers with the tall sides (so you can't put a car on it, but you can a small car and "Dukes of Hazzard" out the window) FYI, I've got a complete trailer hitch setup for a big bumper Z that came off a '78 parts car I scrapped. Yours for $40 plus shipping. This would be really cool if somebody had a pair of standup jetskis or a single sitdown.
geotek
My new '73 has a tow hitch under the bumper. It's not mounted TO the bumper, but somehow mounted under it. I don't want it. I haven't checked the mounting situation yet. George
Trevor
Not that power (no lack of) is the issue, but I think the Z is too light to tow a load as heavy as another car. You'd risk jack-knifing it if you have to hit the brakes. I'd hire a tow truck - $60 buys peace of mind.
