az240z
I am planning on towing my z. I have an old fashioned tow bar and am wondering where best to attach the bar. Should I take off the bumper and attach there or do you think that the bumper would hold? The z is a stock 78.
johnc
You should build a bracket that attaches to the front frame where the stock bumper attaches.
deja
I agree with johnc. The front bumpers are attached to shocks which bolt to the frame. I would worrry about those shocks being able to hold up to the weight of the car being towed. Should be easy to fabricate a replacement bracket for the shocks. There are also tow hooks bolted to the frame. You might be able to use that area to mount a tow bar and leave the bumper on.
