crazyoctopus
M triple weber dcoe 40s, and just sent out the mikuni intake manifold today (trading yetterben for his long canon mani). also took some pictures of the s13 240sx dash that will be going in the car once i finish designing wiring diagram and lay it all out on some plywood. I have yet to make this thing shine like new, but be sure that it will once it is in the car.
Empire
Looking good. I just got the same carbs last week. Any tips? My filters are black, gotta find the filtercharger kit my bro used to keep in the garage.
crazyoctopus
I really have no idea what I am doing when it comes to weber carbs. hahahahaha. First thing I did was check all of my jetting/venturi/choke numbers to make sure they were the same, tomorrow i am goign to check the floats to make sure they are on point, then i am going to soak them in carb cleaner. whiel they are cleaning get some velocity stacks and make a heat shield out of air foil cooking tins (right ben?). once they are clean hope for the best. oh and then buy a book about setting up weber carbs so while yetterben's intake manifold is in the mail once it gets here I know what i am doing. yetterben
Yeah man air foil cookie sheet best 8 bucks you will ever spend on a heat shield.
copperdatsun76
how well is the s13 dash suppose to fit? how much modification do you have to do for it to fit?
crazyoctopus
the dash is 4 inches too long, and about the right depth at its greatest point. I really have no idea how hard it will be, but i figure it is nothing more than modifying a few brackets, possibly making some out of sheet metal, and some snips and cuts here and there. The biggest trouble will be finalizing my dash/gauges that I will be using. easy route is just autometer everything, the awesome route is using a motorcycle dash. Don't worry though, i'll have photos of the whole install process once i finish the wiring diagram (which should be done today), and make sure that the engine starts with the new carburetors. misturmoneybags
Can't wait for you to lower it! The fitment is going to be insaaaaneeeee Edited March 18, 2010 by misturmoneybags
crazyoctopus
i hope so... I posted this build thread up on retrorides.com and one of the members, rtlkyuubi, photoshopped the car. This is potentially how low it will be, but i will have to really see if i could get it there once 240zdan makes the brackets.
crazyoctopus
Haven't been working on the car too much due to me waiting for the new intake manifold to come in. Saturday was spent in the junkyard looking for random things, and came across a Thule roof rack in great condition. Also while I was up north a couple of friends gave me a 240z wing that they found in a junkyard awhile back; turned out to be the "classic" style wing. When I arrived back home I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Cannon intake manifold was sitting on the doorstep. It is in need of a good cleaning, so it will be a few more days before i get it on the car. crazyoctopus
heh, not really anything at all i am waiting for MSA to get their 3-2 header in stock so that I can do both at the triples and the exhaust at the same time. Still need to order that weber rebuild kit, and i have yet to open up the floats and take a gander at what is inside. Once they get it in stock I am driving up there that day! But... I have been doing some cleaning to the manifold and its components and this is what it looks like right now. Still need to clean my spacers, but that should be done later today
yetterben
Your not gonna have room for those spacers.
crazyoctopus
did a check yesterday before i bought the bolts and studs; from mounting flange to top of K&N filter (3.5" tall) it was about 15" I will have about an inch or so clearance from the filter to the shock tower. 19762802+2
Your going to have to cut your intake manifold down so that it will sit flush with the Header with the stock washers and studs.
MarkS30
i really like your zg flare and wheel+tire setup. did you get the wheels directly from diamond racing?
