yetterben
Any options out there besides the msa one? Anyone hac the stock flange from the msa and weld a v band on to it. I had a msa header and 2.5 from the header back. Looking for something i can attach to my existing exhaust.
Zmanco
So you're saying that you had a NA MSA header and 2.5" exhaust and now are going turbo? I just did the same thing last fall and in the end had a local guy build a custom 3" all the way back. He bought some 180 prebent pipes and cut/welded to make it fit. Took him most of a day but it turned out great. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but I searched for a long time for a downpipe I could adapt from vband to my existing 2.5" and couldn't find one. Tony D
I don't see why you couldn't... Especially for the price! I should buy one of those MSA pipes for my wife's car come to think of it...
Zmanco
In my case the new wastegate housing extended farther back than the stock T3 and due to clearance issues the vband flange would be attached far into the curve not even close to parallel to the radius of the bend. The transition from the wastegate housing to the pipe would not be smooth.
Zmanco
Here's a crude drawing of what I'm talking about.
280zex
Got the MSA pipe myself. Cut the original flange then welded the 2.5 vband flange. I have a t3/t4oe turbo and the 1 inch spacer. I did have a problem with the o2 bung. Seems like it was welded in too fast and changed shape. Had to run a tap through to fix it. I cut the original flange off right at the weld....hope that helps. 280zex
Had to go with a thick spacer due to the size of the compressor housing. The MSA dp fit nicely. My exhaust is 2.5 inch and had the MSA 6 to 1 header flange. The t3/t4oe turbo came with a 2.5 v-band flange. I went to my friends exhaust shop and for 5 dollars he put on a 3 bolt flange and flaired the end. So no more gaskets to worry about. Now I'm gona get the dp coated and get a turbo blanket. Mabe even get the housing done as well.
