Lets compare the dimensions of the 33 and VG30DE pump rotors I have. Both have wavey type rotors, the 33 is a JDM engine with the V shaped pump housing.

33 -77mm OD, 7.9mm wide.

DE -85mm OD, 12.1mm wide

Amended to include more info, taken from Z31performance forum.

Z31 manual turbo - 74.6mm OD, 12.5mm wide

Z31 auto turbo... - 74.6mm OD, 15.5mm wide.

Interesting, if those figures are right.

Did a comparison between a VG33 crank and a Z32 crank which is very relevant to the subject of fitting any Z32 oil pump to a 33. Because the Z32 pump is wider front to back and its crank nose is machined accordingly I'm starting a separate thread.

Short answer is there is no simple bolt up solution.

i remember reading about the z32's crank being 5mm long or something along those lines, so is it looking like using the z32 crank, adding two studs for the oil pump and sealing where the oil pump doesnt touch the block?

I'm starting a separate thread.

Please don't start another thread. This still has to do with the VG33 and is part of the VG33 info thread because it pertains to what could be used in the VG33.

The problem with building a VG33 is that the small details are scattered across the universe, and you have to go through a billion threads to find info.

I'd prefer it, as having completed a recent VG33 build, if all the info were in one thread...

Just make sure you mention or label any numbers, measurements, or parts/part numbers appropriately, or any methods without forgeting any steps, and this thread will work better to assist those looking for information.

We can create a wiki later.

Thats what I'm trying to do with this thread, It used to be all scattered

through google when you typed in vg33, now you type in vg33 and this thread comes up. I want to make this thread, the single most informative vg33 info page on the web.

The new thread was started to answer a very specific and limited question, something from all the reading I have done no one had specifically addressed before. That opening post of mine was very carefully composed so as to leave no doubt, if it is read carefully.

This general 33 thread is good too because it can cover everything of general application to the 33 engine. Including oil pumps :P

I must say,not referring to anyone here, that reading supposed tech stuff on the intrawebs can often get very frustrating due to the poor use of language. Is that a mini rant, too bad :)

The bloke whose arm I'm going to twist to do my heads will recommend a specific cam grind, based on the final flow figures. All I have to do then is find someone who can follow the instructions, easier said than done.

Have comp cams or isky do a custom grind, the price/shipping shouldnt kill your wallet that bad.
