Kris.Is.Awesome
Hah, allrighty- the wealth of sarcasm ans knowledge here tickles me daily. Now I've seen a few threads on ball joints, but no real answer to who has the best? Some of the ones I've seen here had a cheap nylock nut, the boot was 'eh'. Well, where are you guys getting the good stuff? I'm not a fan of the nylock setup for obvious reasons. I believe these were from MSA? I haben't bothered with ebay, I can't imagine finding a good product there. Of course nobody locally has them either. I suppose I'm also asking the same about tie rod ends, those need to be replaced aswell.

dsommer
Napa has good quality parts. They usually get it right the first time too. Another option is Auto Zone. Get one of their reward cards and buy each part seperatly you'll save 10-15 bucks
Kris.Is.Awesome
There is no best. You took me too seriously. I need a quality product I don't have to worry about. Napa has good quality parts. They usually get it right the first time too. Another option is Auto Zone. Get one of their reward cards and buy each part seperatly you'll save 10-15 bucks Auto Zone here is absolute junk. I'll be lucky if they even know what a ball joint is. Napa parts came out to be $60+ per balljoint
at-jefft
advance auto parts(or affiliate) can get you quality parts. They carry Moog, which i have always heard is high quality. The best thing is they price match any lifetime warranty item. What I did was go to autozone and have them print me the price of their tie rod end($15 duracrap) and then take it to advance and they gave me quality tie rod ends for $15 Each. I ended up saving $50 just on tie rods. Moral of the story, Duralast stuff can be useful.
leftover z
Duralast has some good stuff. Moog is better IMO.

You can look up parts on line print out the item numbers and have them order the parts. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ Last ball joints I ordered came with all the hardware etc, decent quality parts IMO. sticky280zx
My autozone joints seem good and guess what...theyre lifetime warrantied, doesnt get much better to me. I mean what if they are crap and wear out in 2 years, well i get a new set and just have to take off the old (which i would have to do nomatter what "brand") so works for me and im pretty sure they were only 30-40 bucks for both. Yeah, I can't argue with that. Have gone thru 4 starters in 2 years. This last one seems to be a good one (knocking on wood).
jasper
I don't think the absence of cotter a pin dictates a sub standard ball joint. Oem parts, and quality German aftermarket parts for my Mercedes, never have cotter pins.
