millsan2
Good morning all. I am in need of a person to finish my Z. I have had the car for 3 years, and all the parts for over 2, and have not yet done anything past having the body and paint done. It is time to be honest and admit that I will never get this completed by myself. Too busy and too many hobbies. So here is what I have: I have a 78 Z, perfect body and frame, new paint on it already. rebuilt 280ZXT motor Arizona Z Cars 5 lug suspension and brakes Full bushing kit Full carpet kit All the parts, minus exhaust manifold and turbo for a conversion Carbon fiber front bumper Carbon fiber tail light panel Sound deadening for interior all sorts of new interior and trim bits All weather stripping and rubber God only knows what else Here is what I need: Someone who knows Zs and is going to do a meticulous job putting my car together. Obviously, I want to do a turbo conversion. On top of that, the suspension and brake work using the AZC stuff, and replace every bushing in the car. Ideally, I would like an LSD put in as well. During this work, the stock 5 speed would be rebuilt. The sound proofing needs to be installed, after taking up the stock sound proofing, and the interior reassembled with all new parts. After the AZC install, will need new rims and tires. I knwo this is going to be expensive, that is not the issue. I also know that I will have more in this car than it will ever be worth, again, not the issue. I just want to have my dream Z car done. This will be a garage queen that I only take out on perfect days. It is very important to me to get this done by summer. So if any of you are willing to do this, and have done this level of work on your own cars, I am all ears. If anyone knows a GREAT shop in NJ, also would love to hear about it. Please email amills@usa.net, or call 908 three one zero 65 two three Thanks Anthony

EvilC
It would help to see pics and the current state of the car. You are asking for all of this to be completed by mid summer? Stock suspension or coil overs? Stock control arms? Basically you want the l28et put in and running on stock s130 harness? You also want the brakes installed and wheels of your choice? How much is the interior apart? Are you willing to spend about $50/hr? Clive

Again, I have the AZC coil overs and 5 stud rotors, front and back. I need a whole lot more than just the engine drop in. That is the start. The coil overs are a weld in job, the front bumper requires a custom mount. It is a lot. If you are interested, give me a call and we can talk. I think we met a few years ago at the state park run in 07. Price is not he main motivator, quality of work is.

I am currently laid off and this would have been perfect timing, but I have to finish my own right now. I don't have the space to multi task.  Let me see if I can work something out. Meanwhile take a look at my resume. http://dcerutti.smug...n/1749234_5BA2m http://dcerutti.smug.../10195543_2VzbZ Edited March 10, 2010 by cygnusx1
EvilC
Well pictures are going to help you a lot here. Your first post didn't mention coil overs and I thought I would bring it up....something you want also. 2-3 of us has been talking about your car but more info is going to be needed...plus with a tight dead line this needs to be planned out. I will wait to see what others say and some pics hit the screen. What were you driving back in 07 when we met? I didn't have a Z yet on the road. Now I have the red car below on the road. Dave does do nice work and his cars look great.
millsan2
WOW, very nice work. Exactly the type I am looking for. I met both of you at the Z Meet in August of 07. I had the car we are talking about. Only kinda pick of the car is here, from that thread: http://dcerutti.smugmug.com/photos/180454877-M.jpg I have the burgundy 78 waaaay in the background. Getting pics will be tough, as one of the reasons the car has not been done is that for the last 2 years, it and I have not resided in the same place (divorce). I should be able to swing by this weekend. What are you interested in me photographing? Thanks for the help.
rags
Yeah I remember you and your car. You were supposed to bring it by years ago to work on it. I think you also changes your name from Millsan1 to Millsan2. Anyway if memory serves correctly, at the meet you only had one seat temporarily mounted in the car with not much else. I think you the car didn't even have door weatherstripping in it. Also, the paint was very fresh. Not even sure if it had been rubbed out yet. Also, did you have the paintball store or was that someone else? If that is you, I think you are very close to me. Your going to have to take pictures of everything. Engine compartment, interior, exterior, parts to be installed, etc. It'll get done one way or another. Joe
millsan2
Yep, that is me. I had to create a new ID, because I did not have access to the email account associated with Millsan1. Nothing has changed in the car. I think that day may have been the last day I drove it. Not much else has happened with the car, except I gathered parts. Will take pics, but she is what she is, perfect frame and body, drivers seat and all standard guts.
