at-jefft
Ok, so my lug nuts get too loose for comfort after short drives. The threads are pretty worn so I'd like to replace them. I looked in the FSM and couldn't find the procedure for replacing them. I Know they are just pressed in but I'm wondering what has to be taken off the car in order to get them out and the new ones in. For the fronts, I'm guessing the hub has to come off and the rotor separated. As for the rears, does the stub axle have to come out? Thanks, Jeff Edited April 21, 2010 by at-jefft
19762802+2
For the rear all you have to do is take the Front part of the Drum brake off and turn the hub and they should slide out, After you hammer them out of course. Sweet. That's really good news.
JMortensen
If you decide to put longer ARP or similar studs on the rear and don't want to pull the axles, you can drill a hole in the backing plate to fish the studs through.

I did something simular, I removed the brake cyl and ground some extra clearance to put them in.
at-jefft
Great, I seem to remember someone saying there was a slightly longer stud from another car that works on our Z's. Anybody got a part number?
rx8ss
I used the ones from a 4 gen f-body. .409 knurl 12 x 1.5 thread if I remember right. Stock knurl is .407 Use a stud installer for best results, that way they seat much better and you will not kill the threads.
