garyneedsz
So when i put the key in on position or the car is idling, the ignition relay will click.. open close, in a pattern with even intervals. what could this be?

gb20
I have this same issue on both my 260 and 280. And my dad has the same thing in his 260. I'm very curious as to what it is.
Yellow240z73
same problem on my 240, but also whem ignition is off... I wish someone would help me out with this: the ignition gave me problems when it activated the starter in the LOCK position, so i hook a new ignition switch up but the same thing happens, it tries to start and most of the time actually does start when i turn the key to the lock position. Ignition relay keeps clicking on and off in even intervals, and my battery drains
garyneedsz
some people have told me that theres bad ground to the relay, so lets try that out first. but i have no idea why your 240 is still doing it even with the igition off?
GOTHALOSISM
Its possible if you have a bad ground or short somewhere in the wiring that it could be causing an open circut. I think my relay is toast so I'll probably upgrade to a crane ignition system.
Yellow240z73
well i'm in bad shape because i know nothing about electrical. would upgrading to MSD help me out? because basically if i upgrade to msd ignition, woun't everything be hooked up to that instead of the stock ignition components?
