Need Help I.D.ing a part for vacum

So this was mounted on the Power steering Fluid Res. and i can't Figure out what it is. I looked in the FSM on a PDF file and couldn't find it. Here is a picture of it.

That is the stock boost solenoid. It limits the boost to 5psi I believe.

 

Edit: If your gonna run a boost controller then you ditch that.

I would think it would raise boost from the wastegate setting of 5 to about 7 when the car gets into operating temp. Cant really see how a device on the wastegate line could actually LOWER past what the wastegate is set for. Either way I would ditch it and run a boost controller lol

Yes, it's the stock 2 step boost solenoid. It regulates the boost, 5 psi up to 4500rpm. Then bleeds of air, allowing the boost to be raised to 7psi on rpms above 4500... Remove it and you'll be runnin constant 5 psi (if you don't get a boost controller that is), or if you connect a permanent ground to it, then you'll run permanent 7psi (no longer 2 step). Yes stock gate with no controller will get you 5 psi

To be more specific, the wastegate actuator is rated for that pressure; not the wastegate.
