Two80z4me
hey, I looked this up and I couldnt find anywere. which way does the pump pull fuel? right now I have it hooked up like so.. -[][][][](pos/neg)- and on the outlet by the pos/neg posts I have it coming from the fuel tank and the opposite side of the pump going to the Injectors, but my problem Is I dont think thats right and I think its pulling fuel from the fuel rail to the tank, which is useless lol. if anyone has the chart or knows if I have it set up backward, please do tell
Snailed
The side with the terminals is the outlet.
trwebb26
That is how mine is plumbed: Make sure the polarity of your wires is right - if they are backwards the pump will pump backwards.
Nigel
Isn't there a big arrow stamped into the side of the housing with the word "Flow" printed in it. I'm pretty sure that's what's on mine... Nigel '73 240ZT

Nigel '73 240ZT someone glued the cover onto mine, so I cant read it or get the cover off. so the side with the terminals is the outlet for the fuel rail? if so Ill just wire mine backward
motoman
Yes the side with the terminals is the outlit. I would suggest just turning the pump around it most likely designed to flow in a certain direction.
FlatBlack
if so Ill just wire mine backward Do it right!! "FLOW -->" [pointing towards the terminals]
Nigel
Do it right!! "FLOW -->" [pointing towards the terminals] Agreed! Regardless, the check valve in the outlet will prevent it from flowing backwards anyway... Nigel
Two80z4me
lol I fixed it and did it the right way, no im not getting power to the pump, so im going to do it on a seperate relay with a switch. good ole switches
motoman
Don't forget to wire in an oil pressure switch incase you do have one of those crazy things happen and the pump just keeps pumping. That wouldn't be to fun to have happen.
