Markkonschak
I have been searching for a good turbo dizzy so I can run launch control. Currently using EDIS. The 2nd one down looks like might be the right one. Could someone please shed some light on this for me. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_parts/distributor/nissan/280zx.html
FlatBlack
1981s had a sensor and teethed wheel on the crank pulley. This one says 1982-1983, Sub-Model Turbocharged. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQNissanQQ280ZXQQBeck_ArnleyQQDistributorQQ19811983QQ185-0309.html I think that one is going to be the one your looking for. letitsnow
Flatblack's got the right one. Another way to get spark cut is to run the sensor directly to the MS and also trigger the coils directly, just have to do a little reading and buy 2 more coil drivers(BIP373). Going this way, you get the nice features of the dizzy(spark cut, etc) and the added precision of a crank trigger(real or perceived). copperdatsun76
is a turbo dizzy absolutely necessary if doin n/a to turbo conversion?
rossman
is a turbo dizzy absolutely necessary if doin n/a to turbo conversion? No, but do some research. There is a reason Nissan and every other car maker now use more accurate ignition control. Edited October 10, 2010 by rossman
randy 77zt
the first megasquirt install i did on my car i triggered the ms with magnets in my flywheel .the ms fired the oem turbo power transistor/coil assembly.becuase of wear and the amount of parts involved i had about 4 degrees of timing jump when checking ign timing.now i run the 81zxt toothed crank wheel with 61 teeth removed to make a 30-1 pattern with a cherry gear tooth sensor.coils are chevy lsx
