jakeoster
Has anyone ever succesfully gutted an Autometer Monster Sport Comp tach and an Autometer Sport Comp Speedomter and transplanted them into stock 240z gauges? I like the look of the stockers and would like to retain them instead of the aftermarket look of the Autometers. I'd like to retain as much as possible including the stock needle, high beam indicator, brake indicator, and turn signal indicators. Is this just asking too much? I've never cracked open either gauge before but am really interested in doing this mod. Thanks.

jakeoster
I've seen that but that's just putting the gauges into the stock housing. What I'm gunnin' for is a full on swap to where no one would even know the guts are actually autometers because they appear completely stock. AkumaNoZeta
Yeah, I know what you meant. I posted the link before I reviewed it again and I was like "Oh, that's different...oh well" I've thought about the same thing but with having to fix so many other things, I just can't afford to worry about it yet. jakeoster
Only thing that worries me is cracking open the autometers. I'm not sure if they just open up or if you have to mangle them to get to the internals. I'd sure feel like a dope if I mangled them only to realize that this can't really be done or it's out of my league.
bobbyc
the bezel would need to be cut off to access the internals...autometer can replace the bezel and glass for $25 a gauge though.
bjhines
Hmmmm.... You do realize that the stock dual guages are unique. There is nothing Autometer makes that will match them in any way, shape, or form.
jakeoster
Maybe I'll just do the bezel mod as described in the link above. They cost me too much money to dissect them, I don't have the guts haha.
rturbo 930
Take a look at Revolution gauges. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/72718-revolution-gauges-installed/page__hl__revolution
jakeoster
Those are nice gauges. Only bad thing is that they cost money and it wont make you go any faster or handle any better
