AkumaNoZeta
I thought the light for the engine bay was cool but I didn't want to be bound by wires so look what I did.
jhm
Pretty slick...probably a whole lot brighter as well. Great idea!
AkumaNoZeta
Easy to make and I think it looks cooler that way and adds to the practicality. I'm working on a way to put a hook on it so you can hang it from the hood if working at night on the side of the road.
Ironman
That's a VERY cool idea. I might just have to borrow that. If you want put a high power led from Fenix/Nitecore; then that will really light things up.
Nigel
Great idea! So what parts are you using? Nigel '73 240ZT
AkumaNoZeta
I just bought a new inspection light from thezstore.com and used one of those $2 LED flashlights from Autozone. The little plate the held the original bulb pops out (learned that from the rusty light that came with the car) making it really easy to cut a hole out the center of it and I used 5-min epoxy to hold it together. I made the clearance real tight so I barely needed any epoxy to hold it. I even went as far as to cut the hook that came off the original unit, hammer down the end of it, drill a tiny hole in and and attach it to the flashlight. Here's a few more pictures, and just because I can I'm throwing in what I just screwed onto my center console.
