OustedFairlady
I've got a '71 240Z and I stumbled across an ebay auction where the seller asserts that the yellow (black car was originally yellow, rare find, such as that) was rare. My Z was yellow, and although I'm not impressed in the slightest with the color, (no offense to those with yellow cars, it's just not my thing), I'd keep it that color if it's actually rare. Any thoughts?
at-jefft
Z-Zap is the term you can use to search http://www.xenonz31.com/s30/zzap.html
JSM
For what the seller is asking for all 3 of those cars, I wouldn't believe a single thing he says.
19762802+2
Z-Zap is the term you can use to search http://www.xenonz31.com/s30/zzap.html The one in the ad is either a 240z or a 260z neither of which were offered in the ZAPP trim. They only made about a 1000 1977 ZAPP Datsuns.
OustedFairlady
As a former resident of Tennessee, I can honestly say that about 70% of those that live there want far more than their cars are worth. For example, an individual I knew wanted 7000 dollars for a 99 Honda Civic hatchback with no engine or transmission. Back to topic, I searched "Z-Zap" on the forums and got nothing, but I have a couple things that you guys may or may not know... Color code for my car was 919, Sunshine Yellow. It's been repainted some sort of black (not a bad job, but needs a repaint). I'm not a fan of the color, and would prefer the orange ("New Sight Orange, 918). My interest in the color's rarity is pretty much academic at this point. After several seconds of mulling it over, I've decided to say to hell with factory-spec restoration, it's converted to RHD anyway, resto-mod is the way to go for me. That said, thanks for any input, and if you guys find something, as I said, it's an academic interest now, so by all means, discuss! I'm interested to know. GOTHALOSISM
Yellow was not a rare car for the 240's or any other Z. Now the rare colors are (78 Black pearl, 79 Citrus Green, and the 80 AE's.) Of course there were some other hard to find colors in the Z31's and Z32's but who cares about them any how? OustedFairlady
Excellent. Then I'm not doing in a rare car even more by painting it white or green or anything else.
SportBikeMike
Thats the cool shade of yellow! The 240Z actually came in two shades of yellow, the sunshine yellow like yours and the "lime" yellow (can't remember the paint code). Mine was originally the "lime' color, which i don't care much for.
OustedFairlady
Alright, mine was originally a nauseating shade of pastel yellow. Again, I'm not downing the color (I think), but it's not in my taste. So, green it is. Laugh. Cheers

OustedFairlady
I haven't found a specific color code yet, but an extremely dark metallic green is what I've got my eye on. It's a toss up between an extremely dark green, or even black with a pearl green flake in the clear.

GOTHALOSISM
dark green as in British Racing Green?
19762802+2
dark green as in British Racing Green? I don't know if your asking me but if you are I'm thinking more of a deep forest green like the Bullit mustang with satin black ZG flares and other satin black accents. OustedFairlady
similar, very similar. my first Z was a 77 280z with a L28ET swap, green with tan interior, ugly as sin and we called it the green goblin...so there. Homage, I suppose.
