zrookie
This is mostly for documentation or to serve to someone as an example. I let you know what I come out with. So today I just went to fire up my car for a run, and started fine and then just died. tried to crank it again and it start but die within 10 seconds. I checked and there is no spark, so that narrows the problem down. I thinking is faulty relay, but I need to do some testing first. I also noticed that when I moved the cas looking to advance or retard the timing the fuel system would kick in. Today it started to rain, but tomorrow I would do the necessary testing to my baby. any advice or comments are welcome.

zrookie
Had the same issues with mine a long time ago. it was a bad ground. I thought about that also and I checked the coil pack ground, but nothing, Which ground did you had an issue with? Thank you for letting me know, I would check all my grounds and clean them up. Hopefully tomorrow and jump on it. I just put the whole thing back together with new cams and it sounded gorgeous for that minute...lol again thank you Stony. stony
The ground from the ECU to chassis ground. took it off cleaned to bare metal and reconnected... didn't have another issue.
240Z_Master
Also maybe check the ground at your CAS... since you seem to rotate it.. then it kicks on and off... could be a problem (also make sure you reset your ECU per the FSM)... after a couple fault codes the ECU likes to operate in safe mode.... which is very boring! zrookie
Does your fuel pump seem to be on all the time like it's supposed to? yes sir,the problem is just the sparkless motor, That's why you can hear the pump kick in. and to think I just put my motor apart to do some head work (two bended valve and bad seals) and cams and now look... NOOOOOOO!!!!

NOOOOOOO!!!! Check the 6/7 wires going to and from the igniter on both sides... check and recheck wires... most importantly hook that bad boy up to a Nissan Consult program of some sort and diagnose error codes... I can't read the blinking read light on the ECU so don't even ask me about that

I wanna drive it to the meet in torrance tonight. I hate procrastination... I would check the 6/7 wires also... thank you brother.

zrookie
Oh man you didn't get the cams mixed up did you? i do believe they will interchange I thought I did at first, but then I realized that the intake has a center bolt and a notch in the outer section, the exhaust have four bolts and the CAS connecting gear in the center, which I took pictures of. they are identical bu different. BTW I just called frsport.com, and we came to the conclusion that I have the series 2 exhaust cam, just a simple mistake, lol... There is actually a note in the box from Tomei stating the CAS difference. The funny thing is that the guy knew I needed a series 1, we talked about it and it was crystal clear, but i guess he grabbed the wrong box and I was too exited to even check... they are going to order the cam for me and I just have to return it. THIS GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!
