B00STDZ
Hello, I was looking for tires for the 300zxtt and I noticed sometimes the tires load ratings are light load. What is the difference between light load and a regular load rating on a tire? Is this unsafe for street use? EDIT* By the way these are the tires I am looking at getting. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/proxes-tq-drag-radials I want to keep stock twin turbo z32 rims for a sleeper look. They are 16x8.5". The tire I want to run is 275/45R16. Minimum rim width is 8.5" per the toyo website so it should fit on the rim fine. And there is alot of clearance inside the wheelwell/suspension/fender so I should be good there. The only thing that has me stumpted is the Light Load rating on this tire. Does that mean the sidewalls are weak and not safe? I plan on using this as a street/daily driven tire. Appears to have extreme dry traction w/ moderate wet traction. B00STDZ
Do you think these would be a sutable daily driver tire? In mostly dry conditions but the occasional wet condition(and in wet conditions I do not plan on pushing the cars performance).
B00STDZ
Also basically what I've summed up is that Light Load tires have a softer sidewall than normal tires. This is not technically a bad thing. For autocrossing it isnt desirable, for drag racing it is. You can still take corners fast, just have to watch to not get "carried away". Also I have read people typically get 11,000 miles out of the toyo proxes tq with daily driving. These toyo tires also I have read get the best wet traction out of all the street drag radials on the market(mickey thompson, nitto, BFG). BluDestiny
Those look like some pretty mean tires. I use Khumo Ecsta XS and they grip pretty darn good. Also you could go with a 265/45 tire and it would look less popped out(not by much). They are also light load tires and I've had no problems with them. Why don't you just go with the R888's if you want a performance tire? You talk about not pushing the performance in wet conditions and in the next post you say they have the best wet performance??? Well Im wanting wet traction on a safe level not so much for performance. And im wanting dry traction like sticky glue. The r888's unfortunately do not have 275/45/16...
