Anyway got the wheels on my car and stuck the flares on. Bolting them on this weekend or before if i get a chance. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=153430#post153430 Once again had no luck getting these pics up!!!aaarrrrggh but check out the link. 3. These are not shadow chrome. They are the silver option. hmmm...sales to the US sound like a lot of work and organising involved. What would ROH quote you on these wheels if you bought them through a distributor!? Sulio
  4. Just got my ZG flares back from the paint shop. Had a few issues getting my old wheels off the car! I could'nt beleive the nuts are so tight, I bruised 2 of them trying. I'll ahve to try again with some better tools tommorrow. In the mean time I tried putting them on a freeinds car just to take a few pics! Check it out. By the way I weighed these wheels with tyres on them. The 9.5" with a 255x40 tyre weighed 18.9kg. Hmmm...this is my second edit on this reply trying to get pics up!? I've added a link to pics. If one of you fellas could paste those pics here I'd appreciate it, not sure whats happening on my side!!??? http://www.viczcar.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?p=1417#1417 Cheers Sulio
  5. Hi Guys, I've got some 17x8.5" wheels and would like to fit a 225x45 tyre on the wheel. I tried at one place and they said they would have to use a 235x45 seeing the 225x45 is too narrow to fit. I have since heard mixed reports. I do want the stretched look seeing I have 255x40 on a 17x9.5" on the rear. Looks great. Can anybody here give me any information on the 225x45 and 17x8.5 combo! Thanks Sulio
  6. I fitted 255x40 on the 17x9.5 at the rear without an issue but they tyre people could'nt fit the 225x45 on the front 17x8.5 rim!!??? THey suggeted I use a 235x45 for the front. I would like to stick with my first selection seeing the 235x45 would be slightly bigger. Has anybody mounted 225x45 tyres on a 17x8.5 rim??? Any suggestions guys because I made a few quick phone calls to trye shops and got mixed reports! Thanks Sulio
  7. hmmm...Jersey I never noticed I'll have to remind the our web guy to add the link because it does improve search engine listing! What would you guys expect to pay for 17" ROH wheels in the states? I got mine from a local distributor in Melbourne. Sulio
  8. 8 months is a long time to wait. Jeez where did they come from? I'll stick with 255 so I get that slightly stretched look. Thanks Mike, Ill try and find my scales at home to weigh them tonight just occured to me that I forgot to ask. picked up the 8 inch wheels they had as a demo in the shop and it felt quite light. AUD$1800 which converts to about USD$1350. Very reasonable in comparison to Watanabes whilst still looking aggresive I think. I like the fact that if I was to damage an outer section I can get a new section rolled for about $150 per wheel. Also good if one day you want to sit the rub back under the guards which I think will never happen! Yer hopefully this Saturday I can get some pics with the wheels mounted and flares in place. Sulio
  9. After a 6 week wait I've finally got my new 17" ROH wheels. 8.5 inch -6 for the front and 9.5 inch -19 at rear to be mounted with 225x45 front and 255x40 at rear. Looking forward to picking up the freshly painted ZG flares this coming week to fit the rubber under. Hopefully they'll be on the car by next week! Sulio www.viczcar.com
  10. I just bought a set of 17x8.5 (-6offset) & 17x9.5 (-19 offset) ROH venturo for my 260 which will be used with ZG flares. (Tyres, 225x45x17 frnt & 255x40x17 rear). Theres a lot of variables added to the equation with those changes you've made. I think your safest bet would be to measure how much room you have.Take a straight line up from the hub face and measure perpendicualr from that to the spring perch. Do a search on offset info and you should be able to work out what offset you need. The only issue will the caliper clearance. Oh and note that a 9.5 inch rim is actually 10.5 when measured from the actual ends because the wheel shops always measure from the bead! I hope somebody can give you more advice than I have. Good luck! Sulio www.viczcar.com
  11. Certainly. I beleive last time you caught up with Gav but unfortunately I could'nt make it. Well next time your coming down we will try and organise a BBQ with an open invite to all viczcar members so you can check out a number of s30's whilst your here! Once again thanksw for the info NZeder. Cheers Sulio
  12. Well after reading this post amongst many more on different wheel sizes and offsets I bought a set of ROH Venturo 3 piece wheels that are made in Australia. I figured the Watanabe width and offset you guys have used would be the safest choice but in a 17 inch wheel. Just gotta send the flares off for a coat of black paint and wait 5-6 weeks for the wheels to be made. I've noticed some people run a 9 inch front and 9.5 at the rear but they must have coil overs so I'll stick to the 8.5 fronts and theres always the option of just adding 5mm spacers to the front to pump them out a bit without hitting the suspension perch. I think suitable choice in tyres will be 225x45x17 front & 255x40x17 for the rear. http://www.roh.com.au/asp/product_catalogue.asp Thanks for the help with all the info posted here fellas! Sulio
  13. Very nice look forward to seeing the finished car. Thanks NZeder!
  14. Nzeder, are you running the same size tyres as 240ztt on your wats? What did they set you back if you don't mind me asking and how long was the wait? Are you going to use ZG flares, if so can you post a couple of pics with the flares stuck on by tape if its not too much trouble?!?! I've bought some ZG flares and my plan was to run relativley stock suspension, looking at your pics and other posts I think your rim dimensions are the way to go! Sulio
  15. Hi guys, I've been following all the threads regarding offsets, wheel/tyre sizes and flares. I just bought a set of flares so I've been looking for a suitable set of 16 inch wheels in 8 inch wide and 10 inch wide for the rear and was hoping I could avoid coilovers. I used to run 15x7 SUPERLITE rims made by a company called PERFORMANCE WHEELS here in Melbourne. They are pretty much in the style of a minilite or panasport. They also come in a 15x8 size both made in +15 for the S30. These wheels are very popular in Australia, look good and are quite cheap. About AUD$220.00 per wheel. The only let down was the 15 inch size so I decided to go the bolt on adapter from the US and use a LENSO C5 copy in 17x7 inch with 215x45x17 tyres. Looks ok but you just can't compare it to the fat flared out ZG look. Anyways, I have been on the phone to Performance wheels today. Information fresh off the press, they are just about to release a 16x8 superlite to suit the s30, as for 16x10 this will be coming at some point next year which is not too far off. Also on the books for next year is Superlites to be made in 17 inch. This sounds like a great alternative to Watanabes. I'll be going the 16x8 & 16x10 combo personally. n terms of price I'm expecting them to be about AUD$300 per rim but that is a guess. Still good price considering PCD and offset would be good for S30. That would be about US$220. My guess is that the 16 will come in a offset of -9, (backspace 113mm) for the 16x8 and -26 (backspace 105mm) for the 16x10. My guestimations for this offset are based on the fact that other styles they make in their range suited to S30 in the sizes above can be supplied in those offsets, which means they don't hit the suspension perch of stock suspension however flares are needed. I have included a progress pic of ZR240's rear end with a CHALLENGER 16x10 wheel made by PERFORMANCE WHEELS. This wheel is also -26 offset. Also pics of my old wheels 15x7 and 17x7. Sulio www.viczcar.com The sooner the 16x10 come out the better. So if you like the sound of these wheels e-mail them and hassle them about lead times for 16x10 and I'm guessing this will get them out sooner! http://www.performwheels.com.au/classic.htm [/b]:;"] [/b]:;"] http://www.performwheels.com.au/classic.htm
