  1. Any word if the jdmfenderflares will fit 17x9.5in -20offset with 275s?? The ones from rdhjapan do not! Will be selling them as I have already chosen my wheel/tire combo.
  2. These look pretty suspect, but the only thing I can find… https://www.ebay.com/itm/196145602545?hash=item2dab305ff1:g:Fz8AAOSwPJhlhIBZ&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4MhCdnVELY1q75Tfvon%2BMAiL12uNyFchATM62bdscNE6Wms8TFF84hBvERtcgvcxT5KXjvZpf65rR9%2BJ9E%2BeovNq5mJSy8fBhudppCpiGG1Blja3%2Bmv91jSKjjQDqS8YtRp8e5Uao7ipfVSWbEbowpXnAJT2Gv05yIFO%2BBOV0d1PIDnmz2TKd%2BN9ECYmfZPxsxLw22YCuhbKJSLIVrm10Mqi6uTYU2sAz7wYRKgCY1nBO4zGcxG54uRqJciiyEhXKJ1p%2BbNr1utAtfPJNX%2BIcth%2FNhnadtGTTQV4emkLN4IV|tkp%3ABFBM0pmB5ZVj
  3. Thanks for all the input!! Suggestions on where to get a single stock piston replacement?
  4. The Kameari pistons look like they drastically change pin height if this is the case, you also need to buy their rods? Sound right? If you suggest running a higher compression ratio, you are suggesting going flat top forged pistons instead of dished? Is this what you mean? thanks!
  5. 1982 L28et Piston #5 rebuilding a used engine found this Any help on how to solve this? Is there any chance in just running it as is? What risks would there be? Or do you suggest I just purchase a new piston kit? Any thoughts on the Ross kit 1mm+ bore?
  6. Bummer…I was hoping to not spend $300 on a head gasket!
  7. What kind of boost were you running??
  8. I have searched and searched, but still no clear answer on where to get the proper head gasket for the L28et. I understand that Nissan used the same part number for L28 and L28et gaskets but this doesnt sound accurate. Is this true? I am in the process of rebuilding a L28et right now. The previous owner replaced the oem with a felpro gasket. The gasket has bubbled slightly where ports exist in the head/block. I can answer positively that felpro doesnt include all of the water passages. Can anyone help in finding a supplier that includes the correct ports??
  9. I came across this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=135653&highlight=q45+r200 I am wondering why more people do not do this? It seems like such a cheap alternative to anything else as far as getting LSD into our cars. A guy on Z31 performance did the whole swap for $125! Can someone please enlighten me??
  10. Hey guys, I need some help determining the best order to perform a ground up restoration of my Z. Could you please help me put these bullet points in an order that is most logical?? Full Disassemble of Vehicle Media-blast Epoxy Primer Solve possible rust issues - Prime over fixes Apply Undercoat Suspension replacement - powdercoated Body Work/Panel Alignment Paint Engine/trans/electrical/fuel Interior Glass Does this sound right?? Thank you in advance!
  11. If you can do it try to buy a totalled Camaro/Firebird. This is a great way to find a quality motor that you can actually start up, and the $$ you make from selling the parts will fund your project. This is what I did and I estimate making about around $1500 more than what I paid. Its basically like someone gave you an engine/tranny/$1500 for the removal of their totalled car. The downside to it is...you have to be willing to put in time and effort in selling. But, look in the classifieds and ebay for totalled cars....best way to go in my opinion.
  12. The second picture is your AIR pump, it is an electronic pump that puts air into your exhaust lowering emissions and I think it also lengthens the life of your emission components.
  13. thanks for the responses...Helix, that totally makes sense about reconfiguring brake pressure dependant on weight. I might dig in a little deeper, maybe experiment, but won't spend a fortune. thanks again...
  14. Well, I am currently parting out a '97 firebird and with my desire to bring my Z into the 2000's I have been thinking of trying to adapt the firebird's ABS into the Z. As I see it there is only one problem with accomplishing this...the wheel speed sensors. All other components would be cake to bring over to the Z. You could easily adapt the Brake Modulator (ABS), EBCM, Brake Combination Valves, etc...but the foreseeable problem is that the wheel speed sensors are built into the wheel hubs. These send a frequency to the EBCM, giving it information on possible wheel lockup. I was wondering if anyone has tried to adapt these speed sensors to accomplish this?? An interesting idea nonetheless....
  15. I'm wondering what happens when downshifting with the brakes on. I could potentially see a problem...say your on the freeway and downshift because someone in front of you is going too slow. thoughts??
  16. I really enjoyed reading your log bro....I actually learned quite a bit, and will probably be adopting many of your ideas....I was wondering if you ever tried filtering your blast media?? Looks like you have sand everywhere!..lol anyway grats on the progress...my z is still my daily so no teardown until i move into a house with a garage...oh yeah and a full time job! TB
  17. Hey Mull....I haven't expressed my intense pleasure of your build and updates....but I have been following it for sometime now...thank you for all of your hard work...i don't think people understand how much time goes into a production video. anyway, i was wondering what you are going to do for wire?..are you going to run new wire for hugo, and what all goes into a complete rewire (if it is even worth undertaking)??
  18. I currently drive a 1972 240z that is having some suspension issues (I've been bottoming out and riding low on my FR tire). I am planning on driving the car as is for a few years...with the stock engine. Then, I would like to do a 350 swap. I don't want to buy a new suspension system, then have to purchase it again after a do the swap because of the added weight!? So, my question is, Is there a setup that will work with both weights?? I've heard that tokio makes a good products for my current weight? P.S. - I am new to the game, but am learning quickly. Here is my z if you are interested. Sorry I'm still working on it. www.tonyandbridget.com/240z/
  19. I am in the very early planning stages of my Z conversion, and I would like my LT1 to have electronic fuel injection but I had a quick question about it. First off, please forgive me if my question is elementary, but we're all still learning, Right? I can't remember the original thread, but it was talking about having to reprogram the ECU. I read up on how EFI works at www.howstuffworks.com and I don't understand why that is neccessary. It is the same engine same fuel injectors. The only thing I could think of is the exhaust system. So, I guess my question would be What in the swap causes the ECU to be reprogramed? Is reprogramming the ECU avoidable? How?
