  1. Hi, I tried replying to your PM, but HybridZ appears to be having a problem with that right now.

The price for the damper (PN NIS-IB240-280Z-6, or NIS-IB240-280Z-6)is $457.50.

  2. I have an '83 ZX turbo ECU in Georgia. Can ship if interested.
  3. I bought a spare engine with the original turbo (1983 280ZX), and I don't need the turbo. Not sure of its condition (looks ok), but you can have it for $25 + shipping. Can send it out tomorrow if you still need one. -Nathan facebookrookie@gmail.com
  4. Thanks for the feedback. My machinist is grinding and polishing the current set of valves, installing new stem seals, then I get all the shiny bits back for my own reassembly. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Megasquirt&Spark setup - what wiring harness did you use, where'd you buy your setup, pricing, etc... I'm looking at MS&Sv3.0 for my own setup, once I get to that part of the build.
  5. I'm launching off on my first Z-car motor build and swap, and I'd love to hear others' inputs and thoughts as I go! The plan is to take a good condition L28ET engine out of a 1983 ZX donor and transplant it into my 1976 280Z. Here's what I'm trying to prevent: 1. Me at a red light, next to some kindly old man in a stock Honda Accord 2. Old man smiles, nods approvingly at a fine example of the very sort of car he learned to drive on 3. Old man proceeds to leave me in his dusty, stock-Honda-and-Fibercon wake, smelling faintly of mothballs In other words, I want to make my daily driver move as fast as it looks - or at least give it the capability. I don't autocross (yet) and I only occasionally make forays above 5,000rpm. Sadly, my begrudging respect for safety and speed limits prevents me from pushing the car too hard on my local roads. So I'm not looking for a "monster" (boring, I know), but a solid daily driver that's capable of lighting 'em up if/when needed. Priority #1: Reliability (my daily driver) Priority #2: Horsepower - 300rwhp Current status: F54 block, pistons, rods, and crank all passed inspection - bottom end looks good, ready for rebuild, but is currently 100% stock with original components P90a head passed inspection - valvetrain looks good, but is also 100% stock w/original components (Above inspections were performed by local engine machine shop) Next step: Reassemble bottom end with new bearings, piston rings, & ARP rod/engine bolts. Have cylinder head gasket surface milled, 3-angle valve job, otherwise keep stock. Haven't decided whether to upgrade to stainless steel valves, replace old valves with new OEM set, or keep the existing set - if the current set is within tolerances, would it be a waste of money to buy new valves? Any other mods/parts I'm missing on the basic block & head to meet my goals?
  6. Thinking about it, but hoping to stay stock if possible. Please let me know if you have a stock size set!
  7. Great! I'm in Buford, so I'm less than 30 minutes away. Three follow-up questions: 1. What brand/make are they? 2. How much work/modification does it take to fit them to the stock head? 3. What's your asking price? Feel freel to email me directly with responses: facebookrookie@gmail.com -Nathan
  8. I'm refinishing my L28 turbo head for a future build, and I'm having trouble locating a set of stainless steel intake/exhaust valves. Anyone have a set lying around, or know of a vendor who has them for a good price? I tried calling Si Valves, but they're out until mid-June. Help! -Nathan Robertson facebookrookie@gmail.com
  9. Also try www.rpmrons.com for L28-series engine rebuild kits. His stuff seems pretty solid, and he's flexible on swapping parts or adding/deleting components as necessary.
  10. If anyone still needs a rebuild kit, check out www.rpmrons.com. He has full rebuild kits for the L28 series engines, as well as many others. He seems willing to mix-and-match, and add/delete to his rebuild packages as necessary.
  11. I'm starting work on the eventual replacement for my 1976 280z's stock L28. What I'd like is a usable condition L28ET with as much of the stock hardware/wiring/sensors intact as possible - I'll be rebuilding, but obviously the more usable hardware I start with the better. My budget is only about $300, so I probably can't afford to pay the seller to ship it, so Atlanta area is definitely preferred. At any rate, I'd definitely like to hear of anyone who could help! -Nathan facebookrookie@gmail.com
