    Its yellow...

Wow! You can just hear it say " I tawt' I taw a puddy tat!"
  2. Gee, 11 years and look at the results there maybe hope for me yet. Nice job Pete!
  3. The current emissions laws only cover vehicles 2-24 years old. So anything 77 and below will only need a safety sticker.
  4. Thanks for the site Mike C. i found that site to be helpful. Hey Locutus I might look you up in the future if i visit my uncle in Victoria. He's the parish priest for the catholic church down there.
  5. Geez! $5000 for a decent running one? Wow i didnt think these trucks were worth anything. That explains one guy offering $1200 out of the blue and another guy wanting to know if it was for sale. Jeromio is right the tank at the back seat is a downer, not enough leg room for me. I checked out the cab and found typical rust on the corners but only minor ones, frame is straight, cab floor still there front suspension still great. Although the 4 drum brakes really scare me. The engine has a Holley contender Intake and the former owner just put a regular quadrajet on it. It also has an HEI distributor on it and that's the reason why i thought it should have 8mm wires instead of the 7's it has right now. Im thinking of just buying a Carter with an electric choke so i wont have to sit there for 15 minutes in winter time for it to warm up. The oil filter is a regular Delco but i just wanted to see if all 350 400 sbc used the same type. I think the engine was "built" at one time but age has taken its toll but it barely burns oil and the tranny still shifts. Right now i just need a good hauler and being a 6 lug C10 with a running drivetrain is great for now. I guess this makes me an official Texan, although there's not a lot of chinese guys driving around in 69 Chevy trucks around here, maybe a Toyota 4 runner or Tundra. Also I might go out and get a spitoon for the dash.
  6. Yep I got a free truck! My friend bought a new 02 Dakota V-6 and helped him go there and drive home his old 69 chevy. Then i asked what are you going to do with ol' red , he just handed me the key. woo hoo! The truck could use a rebuild but it runs and drives good. Beside free is free! It's got a 400 small block and a 400 tranny. Anyone here know if this thing is supposed to have 8mm wires and what plugs and gap it should have? Also what size oil filter should be on it. According to the casting numbers it supposed to be a 400sbc 4 bolt, 70-73. Sorry about the pics, its from an el cheapo Jam cam i borrowed.
  7. Wow! Thats really red! What do you call that color?
  8. Thanks for the pics great looking install.
  9. Looks Good! How about some shots from underneath and details.
  10. Nice to see you finally got your Z, Did you buy it out of Austin? There is Ricks Car Care here in Irving, but i dont know if he can tune your carb for you. He is a clean shop but typical charge you by the book hour and $65 diagnostic fee to look for the problem you just told him you wanted to fix kinda shop. As far as the starter goes that should be simple enough for you isnt it?
  11. What a waste of a Firebird. Maybe its a prototype car for the prequel to the Knight Rider TV series.
  12. Nicely Done! looks stock. Although you may want to manicure your nails for those close up shots. Juuuuuusssssst Kidding!
  13. I have a 75 Texas Z and i only have a resonator on it. I think it started in 75 for California to have cats on but 78 import and domestic for all states. I'm not sure about that though so dont hold me on that.
  14. If you have it available in CA get a bottle of RXP. Usually Autozone or O'Reily hi/lo has it for around $6.95 treats 25 gallons. It completes combustions and reduces emmissions too. I've used it here in Texas for our emissions testing. here's their site http://www.rxp.com/
  15. That belongs to one of our members #718 i think, i wonder why he's selling it?
  16. The car is just used for everyday driving, no drifting, no sliding, no running away from cops. Just the occassional off the light run and exiting the round exit ramps too fast once in a while. The "H" is just the original tires that the car came with. I'm thnking of just stepping down to a "T" rating because touring tires are a bit cheaper.
  17. Anyone here know much about Kumho? Ive seen only a few of these tires around. The reason is my Lumina has the optional 225 60 16 with the load rating of 97H on it and i found a set at tire rack for around 54 bucks a piece. Plus i have to find someone here to mount them cheap. Any opinions abouut the Ecsta 716HP?
  18. Ditto on #2 But you have to remember if you have emmissions laws then you can only put in an engine from another 83. Otherwise #2 on a budget.

    no bumpers???

So GeorgiaFlash are you going to put on some alternating flashing headlights or a light bar on your Z?
  20. You think you guys liked the show Transformers! I still have Betamax tapes of the show. When was the last time you even hear the word Betamax
  21. That's really not as bad as someone stealing my freinds stock tire and rim from an 89 Ford Ranger and then instead of using a jack they used an Eckerds shopping cart holding up the passenger rear of the truck. (Damn those Eckerd mini shopping carts are strong.)
  22. I bought my wangan midnight copies from Owen. You might wanna ask him.
  23. DECEPTICONS, TRANSFORM!
