  1. The V-8 rumor might be true for Nissan because Toyota is planning for a an 8 cylinder Supra using the 4.3 Lexus engine. Then again these are both rumors.

    Russian girls

Wow the girls gave you .47 cents! Didnt you even take pictures to add to your collection of Russian Girls Gone Wild? Just kidding.
  3. I've seen the car it look's ok except for the rear. Other people who have taken delivery said the car looks great, what do you guys who have actually seen one think?...... Anyone?........ anyone?....... Bueller?
  4. The Holden will be coming to the US as the Pontiac GTO. Sorry no 4dr sedans for now although I think in the Middle East that 4dr. with the same V-8 RWD is also known as the Lumina SS And even the 6 cyl. 3.8 is a RWD, I wish we had that here.

    Urge to Merge

Phantom, you may not want to mount the BB. Been there done that, mine was spring type choke cable triggered. I just didnt take into account deflection! Oh yeah sure it makes nice little cracks on the tailights and dings on the rear but ive also had it deflect back and hit my windshield! can you say cracked and pitted windshield? Doh! Good thing it was only a 73 Duster. I agree with Zfan about cellphones, dont forget about people using PDA's on the freeway. You know how you guys have morons in your state? Well in Texas everything is big..... including our Morons!
  6. The way i see it is you have three options. 1) Buy LT-1 and make sure you can handle the electronic harness and install of necessary sensors and stuff. 2) Have www.compmachine.com build you a nice 300h.p. smooth idling daily driver "built" motor. 3) Buy a crate engine depending on the horsepower you want and just transfer most of the other stuff like intake, exhaust manifolds, carb, to the new engine. then whatever you do just sell the other engine to make up for the difference. By the way this may sound like a dumb question but did you check if the throttle cable is hooked up properly? I helped out a buddy of mine who was having the same problems on his El Camino and Pontoon boat and found out that the cable would not pull on the carb all the way. We discovered this by accident when he floored the pedal and i told him that i can still open up the carb a little bit. Once the slack was taken care of we got full power back. Just a little slack took a lot so have it checked. I hope it helps.
  7. The Scarab position shifts the engine forward a few inches more than JTR. Therefore more weight bias to the front. Parts are still available thru hooker i think. As far as i know Scarab, the conversion company went out of business and never put out a manual.
  8. Welcome to the board, rerouting the brake lines is so that the heat wont boil your brake fluid. I've heard of some people just putting a heat shield or just didnt do anything and got away with it. It really is for safety that they reroute the lines. I guess if you have coated headers it wouldnt boil it but dont take that chance.
  9. forget the car i feel sorry for the "what does this rope represent for you?" part. Just make sure you don't answer "just look for a tall tree and i'll show what this rope will represent."
  10. It could be just a switch for a manual power antenna. At least thats what i had in my 75 Z.
  11. Dont worry about it Aaron, I bought mine back in 95 and still havent started yet. The only thing i have is a bare block 4 bolt main and a whole dash with gauges so, i parked the car in a 10x12 storage shed. I'm taking care of my elderly parents right now they are more important, so funds are short for any project and . I may beat Pete P. in his 12 yrs. It'll happen.
  12. Oh Jeeez! super wagon, and i thought a riced up Corsica with a two tiered big wing was bad.
  13. Just yesterday i saw a red 360 drive by my house. It turns out Exotic Car World is just a mile a way from my house at 183 and Story Rd. they sell exotic cars they used to rent them but i guess someone or somebody got over zealous. They had a Lola race car sitting inside their show room, a 355 spider, a 550 maranello i think, yellow Diablo, a Humvee, blue viper GTS and some other cars i couldnt see cause they shooed me away from the window. ( something about drooling on it and leaving smudge marks) You can hang there and see if you can ambush the viper or the Diablo. Here's their website http://www.exoticcarworld.com/index.htm
  14. Aren't you being the naughty boy already. Dont worry if you want to smoke a 911 or Ferrari we can cruise up to the Willow Bend area when you get the Z done. There is high ratio of Ferrari and Porsche per person in that area. The other day i smoked a Ferrari 360 in my Lumina on 183.............well ok he was going the other way ............. on a car carrier......... while they were on stop and go traffic. Hey a guy can dream can't he?
  15. I may have a compression tester but i have to make sure i still have the fittings.
  16. Its sounds like you bought Longs Z. If you still have a 700r4, you should check what kind of gearing you have. Check your differential gears, see what you have, your gears maybe set up for maximum fuel economy. Then check your fuel and timing, is it too rich or too lean. It's like what Phantom said it depends on your gearing too.
  17. You're correct by stating that OBD II started in 96. The reason they dont need the sniffer for 96 and above is because your own ecu monitors its own emissions. Kinda like sniffing your own butt But as far as i know if you disconnect the battery for as little as 20 minutes it will erase the error codes unless it has a mechanical failure or one of the sensors are out. The OBD I only lets you know if the sensors are dead or out of whack i think. Dont even get me started on the OBD III, buncha Nazi big brother black boxes if it ever goes in. Another feature on the III is it records the last 10 seconds of your driving for "Factory Use" only. Of course they didnt say that the insurance company could use that info against you like speed, steering angle, braking info. You know its kinda like the grocery cards, it gives you a discount but when you sue them for slipping in the store they'll pull up your purchase history and prove that you're a drunk, like the case in California. Power to the people (boy, that kinda went of topic)
  18. Well here in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area they just started that OBD II test. What they are looking for is the same as before except with the OBD II they use your cars computer to see if all your emissions are within parameters. And they also check to see if there is an error code triggerred by an errant oxygen sensor or to see if you've been monkeying around in there. But what they dont tell you is that they raised the acceptable passing rate especially Nox levels. A lot of cars averageing from 94-97 are failing because of abnormally high Nox levels. (they treadmill 95 and below) So unless there is something mechanically wrong with your car what I usually do is just pour a bottle of RXP Drive it around for a week to blow all the stuff out. It also negates the oxygenated gas and completes the combustion and lowers emissions levels throughout. Check out their site. Although be aware that for a small bottle it treats 25 gallons but costs $6.95 i think. I've used this stuff, it's pretty good and i have no connection to the company, I just like their product. http://www.rxp.com/how.htm
  19. I thought they took the front suspension from the Chevette. We all know how successful THAT car was. The only nice (if you can call it that) Fiero GT was the last year in 88 with the V-6. But true to GM's nature, the moment they get it right they stop production.
  20. I guess it all boils to what price are you willing to pay for your sanity. You know the old saying " What goes around comes around." He'll probably get his 100x worse than he did you.
  21. http://drp.4t.com/images/gallery68/MOV02376.MPG If you cant race a car, race a scooter. What can i say, gas is $3 bucks a gallon in the Philippines, i think.
  22. Somebody had too much free time!
  23. Yeah I saw your name, and i know it's an 'O' and not a 'G' at the end of your last name. Believe or not I just noticed the letterings on the truck though i've seen the page a thousand times.
  24. The only stupid people i hate are those who make a full stop on the freeway to decide whether to go left or right on the fork.
  25. I just noticed on the HybridZ page we have that there is something written on the truck. It looks like it says " Colters" is that for Colters BBQ? Any clues Owen? Sorry, I had a hunkering for some brisket and ribs.
