I was driving on my way to work Thursday night at 6 and I am on a 4 laned road(2 lanes in each direction) and I am in the left hand lane the cops called it the #1 lane and i was going 45, the speed limit is 40 so i wasnt going to fast, and some car making a right turn, instead of pulling out into the right lane she pulls out into the left lane right in front of me going about 10 mph and all I could do was slam on the brakes. I couldnt swerve because i would of hit the curb and gone into on coming traffic, so i slammed into the back of her going about 20mph or so and now my car is very ugly. We pulled over to the side of the road, I made sure that she was fine, looked at the damage, and called the cops. After telling all the information of what happened to the cops, they told the girl that pulled out in front of me that what she did was illegal, and I asked the cop later if it was my fault and he said no because what she did was illegal. I tried to explain what happened as best I could, its hard to explain, but the drawing that the cops drew up show it very clear and shows it was her fault. So to the damage of my car, its a 72 240z and the body WAS nice and straight. So it doesnt look like there any structural damage which is a good thing, it looks like all body damage which is good. I hit her in the front right(passenger) side becuase she wasnt fully in my lane and it smashed my bumber back around 6 inches or so, took a nice chunk out of the hood, pushed the hood back, and im not an expert on body repiar but i think the hood will need to be replaced, same with the passenger side head light louver( i think thats what its called) the driver side one is messed up too but they might be able to repair it. My front valence panel will probably need to be replaced, and the side piece (cant remember the name I'm really tired) that goes over the tire, that is bent back all the way into tire. Thats all the damage I can think of right now, I do have pictures for insurance reasons just in case and when I learn how to post pictures I will post them so you can see the damage urself. My dad and I were talking and depending on what they can fix and have to replace, we think its gonna be about $3,000 that just a guess, but I will try to get those pictures up and let everyone know what happens.

Holy sh!t man, I bet that felt great, well hopefully you dont have any nerve damage. My friends car over heated and he opened the hood and forgot to use the support that holds it up and the hood fell on his hand and something under the hood went through his hand and he had nerve damage and got surgery for it and after surgery it got infected and he was hooked to an IV for about 3 weeks and luckily his hand is fine now.

That picture helps a lot because the hose I am talking about runs from the tank to my electric pump and it T's off and vents, which I dont think I need.

Thanks, I read them but unfortunately I am still confused. So If I closed up the vent what would happen?

I have a question and ive searched but couldnt find an answer so I will ask it here. I have a 72 240z and I have an electric fuel pump and on one of the hoses to the fuel pump there is a breather and when I fill up my tank it will leak out about 2 gallons of gas overnight, so I was wondering if I even need this breather?

My friend has an s2000 and its a 2000 and the only way he can get it off the line is dumping the clutch at 6k. And for the suspension he tells me it was designed for drifting so its really hard to handle, or he just cant drive. Its a sweet car and that swap will be even sweeter.

Well I think I am just gonna go with the 320 horse long block from central coast mustang its a good price and has a 2 year warrenty and in the long run will probably be cheaper. I am not exactly sure on the carb size but I think its a 600cfm and ive been told not to go over that on a 302.

My parents are cool when it doesnt run I can drive one of there cars. I have a 77 302 in it right now and an extra 88 302 out of a stang which has low miles and is in good shape, ive already taken it somewhat apart and everything looks great.

Its gonna be carbed. What would you expect my redline to be at? I kno it depends on my cam but I dont want to run too aggressive of one, its my daily driver. I only work a mile and a half away but still, its all I have to get around

I am doing the toyota non vented swap, this is weird almost everything were doing to our cars are the same we both are doing 302s in a 72 and were both 17, talk about weird lol. What color is your car?

I'm in the middle of upgrading my brakes hopefully ill be finished tomorrow. So what are the chances that the cop would want to look under the hood??

Im in San Ramon its going into a 72, and insurance doesnt know it has a V8, and when I got it registered Dmv didnt say anything about smog. How streetable would the 205's be?

I have to keep it N/A my dads making me otherwise I would twin turbo it, so I will probably wait and spend more money and get some AFR's but I am not to familiar with them and I have heard of the 165's and 185's are there any others ones and which are best?? Thanks

I dont have 1500 to spend on brakes, I am doing the whole setup for around 500. Otherwise I might consider it

The front brake calipers and rotors, taking them from the front and and just putting them on the rear. Its a 72 240z

Not so. The law is so F***ed up in this state that if you have, and display, a sign warning of a dog you, as the owner, are aware that your dog may be dangerous, opening yourself to liability. In essence, you know your dog is dangerous, and it is your fault if anyone unauthorized ventures onto your property and gets mauled. Thanks that clears it up a bit and ya this country does have some f***** up laws. I think if someone is stealing something you should have the right to open fire, its not our fault we earn what we have and they dont.

Im not sure about other states but I am pretty sure in CA if you have a "beware of dog" sign or something along those lines you wont be responsible. Thats just what I have heard not to sure how accurate that is and has to be on your property and I dont think that includes your front yard. thats just something i heard, might be something to look into if you want some guard dogs.

That sucks man If that happened to me i would kill the little F**** Im 17 and i cant afford 90% of the things I want, but you dont see me running around stealing sh!t, thats just messed up. I have an 88 302 that I am going to be building up and i have a few questions. my goal is 400 crank hp, and i need to do this cheap, and streetable. I am going to use the gt40p heads but i am not sure what year they were in the explorers, whats the best cam to use with these heads and I was wondering if i should use 1.7 to 1 rocker arms, and what should i do about the rollers, whats a good brand to go with, I will be getting these with the cam. Any information will help and this is going to be carburated. Thanks
