I will have to hit you up after my wedding in June now haha. Sorry.
-
Nice progress dude!
-
Hella tall fools in here. I'm only 6'1" but you'd think I was a midget in this thread haha.
-
Awesome update. Thanks!
-
Can't believe your wife didn't appreciate the throaty rev of an LS1 as much as you do!!
Mine doesn't either.
Nice progress...keep the updates comin'!
LOL. I sometimes wish my fiance was the type who loved it. Some girls just don't get it. At least she's down to get her hands dirty and wrench on the Z with me though. I've been told I'm lucky in that regard
-
I guess the responses were kinda funny but anyway ill take pics I think mine is messed up because theres really no way to get in there.
Trust me. Get a ratcheting wrench. With you left hand pull the bottom of the body panel out, it will flex enough to get your right arm up in there. With your right hand/arm, reach up in, slide the ratcheting end of the wrench over the bolt, start wrenching and you're done. I thought I was gonna have to drop the tank, but after realizing I could get a wrench on it, I went to my tool box, grabbed the ratcheting wrench and it came off in minutes.

Have fun and read your ass off.
-
Lol, your lucky you even got a response to this inquire. But yes, its true, you have to drop the gas tank in order to remove it.
NO you don't.
-
Coming along nice! Keep it up!
-
Go buy a ratcheting box end wrench and boom, done. Take like 5 minutes to get the bumper off.
-
Just be patient. I highly recommend searching the classifieds on the LS1tech forum. You can find insane deals on there.

Sweet Thunder Hill shots!

Nice info! And nice Z06!

Proper insulation of the firewall, tranny tunnel, and floor is key. Wrapping the exhaust manifolds or headers will help some too.
The LS1 isn't an abnormally hot running engine, with the average operating temperature being between 180 and 210 degrees. Also, the motor doesn't sit any closer to the firewall on our cars then it does on the Camaro or Firebird... It's all about insulating that cabin. Get on it!
-
Have just completed my own long tube headers
Will be interested to see what difference they make on dyno
Now to connect exhaust up and see how much noisier it is
Engine is fitted with johns car kit
Mick
Looks real good! Let us know how the dyno goes, and how it sounds!
-
How are you guys coming along Cable? Any updates? Thanks!
-
Straight headers? That sounds nasty.

Pics dont work

Most of the time when your CV shafts need to be re-greased or the bearings need to be re-packed, it will make more of a quiet "clicking" or "ticking" sound than a loud clunk. I would check your diff.

My build budget spreadsheet which contains all of this information, plus MUCH more detail oriented information currently totals out to $30,065. So jealous of your AZC suspension, brakes, and diff mount. Did you order the track pack? Looks awesome!

Would you mind sharing the spreadsheet particularly the details on all parts and conversion stuff required to get the car running? - just the mechanical/electrical portion?
Also it's for my specific build. A lot pf people do a lot of different things which makes these build even cooler! I will def post mine up for reference.

I tried attaching a spreadsheet on here before. Didn't work. I will put together a nice long post with the information though in a bit...
