Wow looks awesome!

This is a pretty cool game that has caught on a many different forums. Not too sure if it will be as active here, since this forum isn't always the busiest. but why not... This game is just a cool way to see peoples Z's and have some fun.
Rules:
A new challenge is issued that has to be proven with pictures/video. The first person to complete the challenge MUST INCLUDE ANOTHER CHALLENGE IN THEIR POST WITH THE COMPLETED CHALLENGE PICS.
There is to absolutely not be any:
Nudity
Drugs
Any obscene acts
Essentially, just keep it clean, guys. It's not a hard game to play, and it doesn't need anyone being stupid/vulgar/perverted to make it fun.
I'll go first. I'll make it easy just to get the ball rolling...
FIRST CHALLENGE:
Take a picture of your Z next to/under a bridge/over/underpass

Very late notice, I should have posted this earlier sorry.
The Legends of Datsun/Nissan at Datsun History Museum
If you'll be in southern California on Nov. 20, make sure to visit the Datsun History Museum (DHM) for their "Legends of Datsun/Nissan" event. They have rented the VIP fourth floor penthouse of the Peterson Museum in Beverly Hills. The venue is sponsored by Chequered Flag 200 and Universal City Nissan. Mr. K will speak and there are many confirmed celebrities attending as well. There will also be drawings, raffles, and silent auctions with items including a weekend time share in Hawaii, Datsun memorabilia, and the grand prize, the first Nissan Leaf.
Just going to the Datsun History Museum by itself is probably a treat, never mind all the other festivities happening.
Have fun!

Simple solution. Make cars less safe, people care more, people drive more careful. People who fail to do this shouldn't be driving, they get in an accident, hurt themselves, they can no longer drive. Problem solved.
I don't think ignoring the technology we've developed to make cars safe is the right answer...
Thinking along these line though, another option could be finding a way to monitor peoples driving, other than police officers and cameras. But deep down do we really want that? Sacrifice freedom for safety. My guess is people would say no.

I'm on "Faceplantbook" but I don't post anything.
Curious to as why we need facebook if we have hybridz.org ???
It's just another network (the largest on the web) to show our interest in these cars I guess. A bit more personalized too, and good for local event type stuff.

I paid 800 to have the hood, doors, cowl, rear hatch and body blasted and coated with an epoxy primer.
Nice that's a good price! Another step done!

A few of us have already started a Z car club on facebook. It's called Z Nuts. Try and give us a search. http://www.facebook....120288677981877
Sweet. Just joined.

Don't forget about Nissan's newest motor either VQ37VHR. People are getting serious power out of these things, and actually respond well to bolt ons unlike the DE and HR motors. Probably too pricey but you could be close to reaching your power goals with bolts ons and a tune with this motor. Just another to add to your "so much to choose from" lol. Have fun!
-
Just of interest a mate of mine has a VQ30DET in an S13, it made 430rwhp @ 16psi, stock motor except for computer, manifolds, injectors and turbo, it will make 500+ on 20-22psi once he sorts the sparkplugs out. Maybe something to consider if you guys can find them over there?
22 psi on a stock VQ30DET? Tell your friend to calm down or build the motor, that thing is gonna go boom VERY soon.

The flares were from MSA. Unfortunately they're no longer shown in thier catalog.
Yeah seems to be the case with a few companies. Thanks!

You will not reach your posted horsepower goal with an NA VQ35DE or HR motor. Not even close. MUCH easier and cheaper to get those horsepower numbers out of the VG30ET.
You can throw every bolt on known to man at the VQ35 motors and it barely does anything. It has proven time and time again. Those motors flow so well in stock form that their power potential without forced induction is almost maxed out.
Average numbers are around 230-260 RWHP with bolt ons and custom tune.

Hahaha. Perfect.

Sorry I am not familiar with any shops up in the North Bay.

Here's a couple of my 75 280/LS1...
So nice. I'm jealous of your shaved rear bumper. Also, what fender flares are those? They look great!
-
Damn! If you stick through the build, that it's gonna be one of greatest before and after shots of all time haha.
-
Right hand drive is unique. Have fun with it!

The straight 6 design is also very known for its loud pops

Okay. I go down that way at least 3 times a year. Will be down there in February for an agriculture trade show in Tulare (another 45 min or so South to Bakersfield I think)
Will be in touch!

Just curious on how many members here have had their LS1's rebuilt and what it cost them for a short block build.
Also I am looking for a Bay Area shop that specializes in LSx motors. I have had a few responses on ls1tech regarding Bay Area machine shops that are knowledgeable with building the LS1. Here is a list of a couple places that were mentioned...
.Dave's Machine in Fremont
.California Street Machines in Fairfield
.Synergy Motorsports in Fremont (apparently Dave's Machine does their short block builds for them, they install long blocks and do dyno tuning.)
If anybody else has some information that would be great. Also willing to travel the distance for a quality builder.
Thanks!

Crazy! Glad I have access to multiple shops that have legit lifts. Scary stuff!
-
Nice. Are you planning on having the battery in the back or leaving it in the front? Keep us posted on engine compartment photos. Looking great!
