  1. ok guys.. i have taken pix of the illusive diff we have all be talking about.. i dont think there is a difference with the asian, american, and european diff... just final drive gearing.. i just need instruction s as too how to post them in this thread... i have them and will transfer them tomorrow as i wanna go home now.. i assure yall its abouthte same just that we dont use half shafts after doing the swap here.. mostly drive shafts...yall will see tomorrow.. so guys hang on to your panty hoses...;p
  2. the rb26dett the last time i checked which was a few months ago costs..usd3157. with my conversion rate being 3.8 Ringgit malaysia to 1 USD. that includes the whole front clip of a r32 gtr 6 speed gearbox, rear diff prop shafts, whole rear crossmember(brakes, shockes, etc) fuel pump and tank, with an option to swap the 6 speed attessa tranny for a br25det 5 speed already bolted on!!!. so everything complete for a comversion to a 4wd as well as if you wanna maintain rwd setup... then comes the shipping cost...that was only the retail price. the engine will start before purchase... no front end collission is exceptable when i buy a half cut!! that means intercooler etc is intact!!!
  3. Hey brothers of the Z's I have just aquired my third R200 VLSD diff. i found a gold mine of them while looking for them here in malaysia as well...since it was so difficult to find them here and i know its illusive in the US, Aust, and NZ i am offering anyone a chance who is interested for me to go get one for them as well...when i was there there were at least 5 in plain view of the mountain of diffs. I obvioulsy baught the best looking and feeling one for only USD100. There were R200 diffs that were finned as well as unfinned covers around.. there are all LSD type diffs. the only problem is i do not nkow the gearing and what car or yr they came out of. Also for those who are interested i will have to find out the shipping charges if any of you are interested... i'm sure a bulk buy will lower the price considerably. These diffs are long nose 4 hole bolt type. Its a direct bolts in into my 1980 280zx. So guys, just drop me a line or call me if you are in malaysia... 016 230 4888... oh ya i can get you rb20/25/26dett very easily from here as well if yall are interested... I'm not a dealer, although I do work in the car industry. I'm a car enthusiast to the bone trying to help my fellow Z car brothers. So ask away and I will do my best in satisfying your queries.
  4. ok guys... i will check on these two options... i have a feeling its the wheel bearing thats gotten lose.... its happened before... will check all this suggestions though...thanx guys. oh ya.. since all are so helpful i would like to extend an offer if yall are interested... i recently bought my third r200 VLSD read diff, with heat sinks.. very nice looking speciment all perfect. should any of you want one i seem to have found the grave yard fall all r200 diff. its where they go so no one else can find them to be used and abused... i baught mine for USD100 and it is in tip top shape... i dont even think i didnt even need to take it apart before installing.. just drained and relubed it. its running nice but i dont know its gearing... good for me thats for sure, no whine no freeplay. tight as a virgin... well i'm in malaysia if yall want one just drop me a line and i iwll pick one up for yall and ship it... bulk buy would fetch a better price.. i dont know the freight charges though. so will only find out when i get replys...i'm aslo going to post his up in the drivetrain section...its good to share... thanx again.
  5. hi everyone, i have had this problem since my project started. i have an rb25det in my 1980 280zx which has had a r33 skyline front brake conversion, factory disc and caliper at the back. i am still running my standard factory brake booster (master brake cylinder). i also have custom fully adjustable suspension, 17" rims all round, 5 lug nut conversion, 2 inch spacers in front, poly bushings all round, rack and pinon power steering conversion and lots more... anywho, my problem is that at high speed, when i step on the bakes my steering wheel judders as if something below is not tight or i have warped discs which i not the case.... i skimmed my discs recently. could it be wheel spacers cozing the problem? even my spacers are customed and fits tighter then a virgin!!! i also have braded brake lines. the last time this happened there was a more severe and violant shake to the whole car but i located a loose bolt to my suspension and that solved that problem... it now a smaller judder which just shakes the confidence out of driving fast. pls shine the light on me coz this **** is just pissig me off.... i have spent a lot of time under my car to make my underpinnings tight.
  6. thanx gollum..thanx for the input... that means the answer is no!!! and to stop drifting for me that is.... as much as i love to do it.. i love my car more and i cant afford to smash it... still i would like to take it to the track again soon to clock my fastest time soon with new poly bushings and better tires i am ready. well.... have to see if other neighbouring countries are still stocking parts for z-monster...
  7. hi everyone.. i'm wondering if it is possible to switch out all the panels from the fire wall forwards to the pop up lights from the z31 to the 280zx.... i ask this because it is mipossible to find body parts for my car a 1980 280zx but it is still not impossible to find a front clip of a z31. i'm affraid that one day when a drift goes wrong my car will never look whole again...i'm taking about a straight up bolt on... i seriously doubt it coz i have compared the two and it looks like the nose has to be choppped off and wellded
  8. hey turboviper, i know of ppl stuffing a 2jz-gte into this model/yr corolla... its a very balance and well proven hybrid.. its no hybridz though but still a real monster of a car (its a z killer:)).... especially good on the drag strip coz that was what that car was built to do aside from being a daily driver.
  9. buddy, i'm using a jaguar 4.6 ltr v8 pump... it pushes plenty fuel, u dont even need a fuel press regulator with this pump... i dont know its specs but i have taken my car to the track a few times n it was A.O.K.
  10. thanx for the tip auxiliry...i know that energy suspension makes a great product but the problem is that i cannot get them here nor will their dealers send them down to me for a reasonable price. If we were talking a couple a hundred bucks i would gladly pay, but they asking for both my arms and legs for just a few bushings not even the full kit!!! oh well... i guess its beck to finding a customizer to get this done then. thanx again.
  11. Hi fellow Z-ers, I have just broken my rear cross member bushing s and have not been able to find replacements for them. I was wondering if some of you have had a similar experience but was able to solve this problem with finding generic replacements.... I'm hoping to find something that would bolt-on directly and save on customing or machining stuff. i hope someone can give me a quick fix solution and solve my problem in time for me to join a autox on the 20th!! hihihhi
  12. thanx Ed260Z i will look into them and findout more in regards to getting down to me. the only thing i seem to notice with energy suspension is that they are not in fancy colors... lol... black bushings look stock and i was hoping to get some nice yellow or red ones to show them off when finally on...
  13. hi am looking for polyurethane bushings for my 1980 280zx but have had no luck finding info under some of the forums in here.. i know summit sells a whole set for USD130 shipping will cost more then the bushings... i live in malaysia is there anyone who would be able to point me the right direction? any good cheap suppliers in Australia or New Zealand even Malaysia?? i'm looking to change all front and back control arm and all parts bushed!! thanx in advance...
  14. hey everyone.. thanx for the compliments and words of encouragement. i have finally got my car back 2 nights ago... the car was not structurally touched. it was all surface damage... yup i hit the curb and guard rail.. all i have to do now is to make a trip to the alighnment shop and get my slight judder out the way and its good as new... the panel beating was done pretty well and it looks the same as before so i have no complaints... the crash just took my baby away from my for 5 days and set me back rm700=usd175!! hahahha anyways the color of the car is... BMW Diamond black and it looks better with a good camera... hahahah i will take new pictures of it soon.. stay tuned guys. oh ya how do i post pictures of the car on this thread??? i want to have them pop up instead of having a link.
  15. ahhahah guys its a good thing i took those pictures at the time i did... coz last night i crashed it!!! it sure as hell will never look as straight and as good. i was avoiding a guy who was running a light during a rain storm. grip was not optimum in fact it was a good time to drift. (i was prior to this particular traffic light) well good thing is the car which ran the light didnt t-bone me and my car isnt totaled. i only smashe my front bumper, light cover and front skirt from running over the curb. oh well...... life goes on, and i will probably have another sleepless night due to my car being in the shop now. dont know much its gonna cost. i managed to get a used bumper and two fiber light covers for rm150=usd39.50.
  16. the digi cam i used was a real lemon. it belongs to my bro to and its a real crapper so forgive the pic quality.. i'll clean the car up and take better shots of it as well as chassis shots. enjoy the pix. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=4368&cat=502&page=1
  17. fuel press at 40 psi and i'm still using the standard brake master cylinder. wonder if this set up will give me any problems in the futur. so far so good.
