  1. Nobody makes cf front fenders?? Nah, there must be some somewhere........?
  2. The pictures are so close, it's hard to tell what's going on. You're probably going to have to bite the bullet and reshoot it.
  3. Wow, a lot of good ideas guys! Thanks! I'm gonna talk to my buddy and I guess we can figure out which project we want to start with. And that's very generous of you 280Zone. Obviously we're not asking for money up front, but if a handful of you guys were all interested in the same thing it really makes it easier to pick which thing to make first. That basic flat spoiler looks like an easy start, but I'll talk it over with my buddy. Keep the ideas coming!
  4. Hey guys, My buddy and I are in the aerospace industry and we're looking to make some money on the side. We've got a lot of experience working with carbon fiber but it'd be kind of pointless to go throw a mold together of something somebody already makes and sells. So my question is for you guys...is there something specific that a handful of you really want made out of carbon fiber? I mean, it would have to be more than just a couple to make it worth it for us, but we'd like to hear some suggestions from you guys. Let me know, thanks! Logan
  5. Gotcha. My plans are to run it stock for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't be worried about increasing boost for a year or two. Thanks for the response!
  6. So...should I or should I not be using this head gasket while putting together my turbo swap? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBTOX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140185863030&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI
  7. Yeah, they were made by Beck Arnley. It's what Autozone sells.
  8. Okay, just for future reference for anybody who needs to know: Cars made after August 1976 use the same cylinder on both sides, while cars made July 1976 and prior have asymmetric cylinders that need to be purchased as a left or right side. This is the older one: And this is the newer one: And I bought left and right sides from a guy on ebay, $15 each. This is the store: http://stores.ebay.com/NOS-PARTS-BELOW-COST If he doesn't have both sides listed, just message him, because he has them in stock. Hope that helps anybody who needs to know.
  9. For a 76 280z, are both sides the same, just flipped around? Napa has a unit for 20 bucks, but they said there's only one side listed in their system. Just wanted to double check...didn't find anything in search.
  10. Does the side I have the arrows pointing at have to be flat again, or do I just care about the inside of the cylinder?
  11. I have no idea how i would bend that back. It's at least 1/4 inch thick steel.
  12. When you say grease seal, you mean the ring that goes behind the inner bearing, right? This? http://images1.drivewire.com/live/K801020280.JPG That's not what I screwed up. Let me see if I can describe it better. Check my attachement. That's the surface that I screwed up when I hammered it to take it out. Even thought I used a steel bar to distribute the force, it still got messed up...or it was like that before, I don't know. Are you saying I can just file down the hub?
  13. So I pulled my old rotors out to replace them and the hub was obviously securely fastened to the rotor. I unbolted it and since I didn't have any sort of press I took a bar of steel and hammered on it (to distribute the force) until the thing came out. I didn't notice any deformation at the time, but later when putting the new rotors on, I saw that the back of the hub was slightly deformed. Either I did it or it was there before, I don't know...but how imperative is it that the rear face of the hub is exactly flat and smooth? I put it back on and tried spinning it around a bit and it turns okay for maybe 200 degrees, then there's a spot that takes slightly more effort to get past, and then it turns okay, then back to that spot, etc. And it's not entirely quiet, either. It sounds like it's grinding ever so slightly. Is that normal?
  14. Quick question I couldn't find with search... Just got my new 15/16 master cylinder in. My old reservoirs will fit right on, correct? Thanks!
  15. Ah hah, found it. Some porsche shop in the valley has it, thanks.
  16. Anybody know where to get it (or it's amber alternative, TYP 200) in LA? Thanks!
  17. Aww crap, you're right. The MSA lines are cheaper. I guess I was comparing to Black Dragon which is $119ish. Shoot, oh well. At least I got 50% off on new slotted rotors from KVR...ended up being cheaper than buying stock replacement rotors from autozone.
  18. Okay, found some ss lines at summitracing.com made by Russel. I went to Russel's website like you suggested and found the part number for the Z http://www.russellperformance.com/auto/brake/b_lines_imp-nissan.shtml and then punched that into summit and it's way cheaper than MSA or Black Dragon...30 or 40 bucks! Still working on the pads...
  19. Autozone doesn't seem to have Raybestos. They've got Duralast, Valucraft, and Beck Arnley. Guess I'll have to look around for some Raybestos or some KVRs...where did you guys get yours? Thanks guys.
  20. Hey guys, I'm doing the Toyota truck caliper upgrade (non-vented), and stuck on two things. Anybody know where a good place to get the SS lines and the pads are? I really don't want to dump 130 bucks on pads like summitracing has, but I don't want the crap 20 dollar pads that autozone has. Isn't there something inbetween that's decent? And where can I get the ss lines? What pitch and stuff does it need to be? Thanks for the help. Logan
  21. Hey guys, I was looking at the weather stripping I have that goes at the top of the metal part of the door on the outside -- it clips into the lip and looks like a chrome strip with fuzzy rubber stapled to the inside that presses against the glass as it goes up and down. Anyways, hopefully you know what part I'm refering to...is there a good way to replace the rubber part of that without replacing the whole damn thing? Blackdragon wants 30 bucks per side and there's nothing wrong with mine except the rubber. Plus, I'm going to take all of my chrome stuff to the powder coater tomorrow, so even if I did buy new ones I'd have to unstaple the rubber part off anyhow...! Ideas? Thanks!
  22. Nobody knows what kind of prep I need to do??
  23. If I powder coat it, what kind of prep is involved?
  24. Ali, Apparently your cell phone is better than mine!! Any suggestions on what to use for the black? I was just thinking rattle can. Will that look okay?
