  1. Pyro, What radiator are you using? Thanks, Greg
  2. Welcome....I have a question. If you can, can you tell me the brand and the part number of the upper radiator hose you have on your car? I need one that has the same bends as you have on your car. Thanks!
  3. utvolman99, PM's don't seem to work and your email got rejected....I have a new JTR speedo cable if you are interested... Greg
  4. 1977 280Z...followed JTR instructions, and is still jumping around. Thanks - Greg
  5. Search does not seem to work....so I've posted this. I've seen lots of discussion (on zcar.com) regarding a tach not being stable, jumping all over the place. SBC with stock HEI and I've hooked mine up per JTR and installed the resistor. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what is the solution? Thanks,
  6. Found the link that works, if anyone is interested..... http://www.broncoii4x4.com/taurusfan/taurusfan.htm
  7. Did a search and found the link to Taurus pics and dimensions, but the link does not work.... http://broncoii4x4.dynu.com/taurusfan/taurusfan.htm Can someome verify this link, or measure their Taurus shroud and post the dimensions? Thanks, Greg
  8. I had them do my drive shaft as well. Cost about $70 if I recall. I've been happy with the work they did. A dirt track racer friend of mine has all his driveshafts modified by them and he is satisfied with their work. Go for it and good luck....
  9. I am looking forward to the diagram. What year LTD did you get the blower from? Thanks!
  10. Jim, Have you or do you know anyone who has removed their rear anti sway bar on a 280Z (1977) and how did did it handle? I know JTR says to remove it, but just wonder if any has, and could share their experience? Thanks - Greg
  11. Congrats on getting it running! I am confused about year of conversion and emissions. I have a '77 280 originally from CA (had a cat convert) with a recently installed 350 (from a "77 Monte Carlo)....just got it running 2 weeks ago. Have not had it inspected yet.... Are you saying since I "converted" in 2003, I have to comply with emission requirements as if it was a new car in 2003? I know in California they go on the newest of the car or the engine for emission requirements. Please help me understand. Thanks!!!
  12. Can the Ron Tyler solution be installed without removing the diff?
  13. Thanks Mike and Brad for giving me some direction...I'll check them out! Later....Greg
  14. Please any ideas..... I have a '77 with 350 and a T-56, and a stock rearend. Just fired it up a week ago. Under decelleration I get a loud clunking sound from the rear part of the car (rear end, drive shaft, or ?). The rear end was fine with the 6 cylinder...never a problem. Any suggestions??? Thanks - Greg
  15. Chasv8z....I am just about done with my wiring on my 77 with a 350 and a t56. The only thing left to wire is the backup light and the speedometer. I can tell you I've spent hours reading and re-reading JTR and then I have a Datsun shop manual that has the complete wiring diagram where I also spent hours, blowing up certain sections on a copy machine, and then tracing wires. This weekend I powered it up for the first time (put the battery in), and did not blow a fuse or anything, and everything seemed to work. At the same time I added the fuse block that replaces the fuseable links, and I am running a Black Magic fan and wired the car ready to reinstall the A/C. I plan on firing the engine for the first time in a week or two. I still need to connect the exhaust, prime the oil pump and that's about it. My advise is to invest in a Datsun shop manual. I don't think (I know) I could have done it without. If you have any questions, I'll try and answer as best I can. Good luck - Greg
  16. I've about finished up all the wiring on my SBC in my '77. Still have one wire in question. There is a White and Black (WB) wire that was connected to a BCDD Cut Solenoid (at least per my shop manual wiring diagram). Does anyone know what the BCDD Cut Solenoid was used for? I would really like to know before I cut the wire. Thanks!
  17. The 5 speed was availble first in 1977 (not 1978). I've had a 1976 with a four speed and a 1977 with a stock 5 speed.....
  18. You might want to consider replacing the fuseable links with the fuse block as decribed on the Z Car Creations website....just a thought. I have installed it, and it looks great. http://zcarcreations.sureshopping.com/display.asp?sku=26&rP=searching,cat@Electrical,cR@default
  19. I searched the forum and can not find this answered, and I could not find it in JTR. I have a '77 Z with a soon to be running SBC. I am wondering if everyone totally removes the Z Fuel Injections ECU (in the drivers side kick panel), or do you leave it in. Thanks, Greg
  20. I think I have seen this question posted several times, but don't know if I have ever seen an answer. Does anyone know the Amp ratings of the fuseable links? Specifically I have a '77 280. Three of the links are the same size, and the fourth is much larger. Before I go and install one of these, I would really like to know what size fuses to use. Thanks - Greg
  21. Don't know if anyone has posted this before or not. I found online free copies of shop manuals (PDF) for both the T56 and T5 transmissions. Here are the links: T56 http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/pdf/LD56-0610-0199.pdf T5 http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/pdf/LD05-0510-0199.pdf Greg
  22. Been working on a '77 with a 350 and T56 for about 4 years. I have about 10-15 more hours of work until I start it.
