  1. The JTR or sanderson headers will fit both sides of the LT1. The factory LT1 headers are what you are thinking of. I forgot which side, but I know one side does not fit with LT1 headers.
  2. You guys are all just guessing with knock sensors, optisparks and all. Wire up an ALDL connector and get a scanner and scan the computer. If your optispark is bad, you will have high and/or low resolution codes. You can watch your timing advance on the scanner. Timing lights don't work on LT1s folks seeing how there is no timing mark or pointer. Anyway, I would start with a scan tool first.
  3. I have experience with Lloyd Elliot products and let me say he combo is pretty sweet and the hp numbers that he advetises can be made with proper tuning. We made 405 to the ground with ours. But make sure you degree in the camshaft. Our first cam was 3 degrees off. With a regular small block, you can compensate for that, but you can't throw an optispark 3 degrees off. Anyway, do the Lloyd Elliot package, but definately don't put nitrous on top of it. The LT1 rotating assembly isn't the best. The Rods in the LT1 are decent, but the stock pistons will not handle 500 wheel horsepower. The cylinder pressure will be too high. You will be happy with 405 to the ground :burnout:
  4. are you going to stick with the throttle by wire and rig up a pedal for that or are you going to change the throttle body?
  5. i would start looking at the optispark distributor if it failed while driving in the rain. The module usually goes bad at the same time as the opti. you can tell if the module is bad by looking for hot or melted spots on it. It is also possible that your VATS module or VATS eliminator has gone bad unless you have eliminated it through tuning. get a scanner on there and start looking for clues. Optisparks are notorious problems in the wet though
