  1. I recieved my tilton 2 days ago and all i had to do was shorten the rod 1/2" and run a 5/16-24 tap down the clutch pedal piece. Its now happily installed with AN fittings on both ends of the master and the slave.
  2. Ls1 T56 transmissions use a hydraulic TO bearing that is all one unit with no clutch fork. Wheelman, I already ordered the tilton unit. That seems to be the tried and true setup around here.
  3. I dropped off my new hydraulic TO bearing today at the local welding shop. I am going to pick it up tomorrow with a -3 fitting welded to it
  4. 2003-04 ford cobras run 3/8 line and with the bowzilla kit that utilizes the stock fuel lines, these cars are making 650+ hp to the wheels without starvation problems. My best friends camaro is putting down 680 hp to the wheels on stock fuel line and a stock fuel pump with just an auxiliary inline fuel pump. My boss's chevelle makes 800 hp on -6 fuel line. I think you have other issues with your mustang.
  5. I definately don't need half inch line for a fuel injected 500 hp application. 3/8 line can support 750 hp+. I just want to make sure that the lines coming out of the tank are adequate. Any input?
  6. for my ls1 I am removing all the original fuel lines all the way to the tank (carburetor car) and I am going to use the corvette fuel filter as my regulator. I am going to run a new 3/8" stainless steel hard line for my feed and my return line. I am also going to use a walbro 255 inline pump. My question is, are the factory hard lines in the tank big enough to support a 500 hp engine or should I pull the tank and get 3/8" tubes welded into the tank?
  7. I am trying to get my clutch going on my ls1 260Z. First of all, where can I get the quick disconnect fitting that pops into the hydraulic throwout bearing? Or should I just cut off the disconnect and weld on a AN fitting? Which clutch master cylinder are people using with the factory ls1 t56 hydraulic throwout bearing? I have searched the forums and found that people are using the tilton 3/4 with T5s and TKOs but nobody with the t56 has posted, that I can find. If 3/4 inch bore is the right size, how big of a throw do I need? I see the tilton has a throw of 1.1 inches for $90.00 on summit racing and the wilwood has a throw of 1.4 for $50.00 on summit also. I am kinda lost and don't want to make the wrong choice and blow my money. Any input is appreciated!
  8. Have you modified any engine internals? LS2s typically dyno in the 340-350 hp range at our shop. After a set of long tube headers and a tune, you are sitting at 380 hp.
  9. many things are possible. Do you know how to adjust the valves properly? Is it solid or hydraulic and is it a roller cam?
  10. I just want to build a fun street car. I figure I can't go wrong with a car as neutrally balanced as a Z and being smog exempt is always a plus. Parts for these cars are relatively available and cheap and there is strong aftermarket support. For the money, I can't think of a better combination than a Z with a v8!
  11. Before the car is complete, I am going to paint it white.
  12. Just thought I would throw up a couple pics of my 260z and my 2002 LS1. I just picked up a T56 for it too. I plan on using a JCI kit. I also have a q45 r200 that I plan on mounting with a Arizona Z Car kit.
  13. I havn't taken a close look at my wiring yet. So far I have only removed the complete underhood harness from the big junction block in the passenger footwell. I am going to paint my engine bay and fill some holes in. I want to remove as much extra wiring from my car as possible so i wanted to see which connectors and which pins these wires go to and start from there. I also didn't know what those two giant gold colored doorbell looking things were for. I still need to do what you said and unwrap the harness so I can see exactly what to remove. I just wanted to see the diagram for extra insurance. Thanks for ther heads up though.
  14. thanks a bunch. I just saved the file to my computer.
  15. Does anybody have or know where I can get a full wiring diagram for a 260Z? I want to seperate my engine harness from my headlight/housekeeping harness so that I can wire in my LS1 as cleanly as possible. If you have this info, please post or email me at s13trbo@yahoo.com thanks.
  16. It will fit, but you will have to fabricate your own mounts. Shouldn't be too dificult, just be creative. People are putting SBCs and LS1s into the 240sx which has a very similar engine bay.
  17. i'll go into tuner cat this weekend and look at it. I don't remember off hand.
  18. I wouldn't touch the wiring to the knock module. Also leave the stock module in place. When you get the car tuned, the knock module can be desensitized with the programming.
  19. Stay away from the Spec clutches as they do not last anywhere near as long as the factory clutches. Personally I like the factory LS6 clutch set. You can buy it in the summit catalog or sdpc. The factory LS6 clutch is good for 500 rwhp. I don't know what that is in KW. But if that isn't enough holding power for ya, I would look into the McLeod street twin. The street twin is good for 1000 hp.
  20. Hey Bartman, I met you over at the car show at the Queen Mary late last year or earlier this year. I don't remember. But anyway, our shop specializes in LT1 dyno tuning. Don't worry about buying a cable or software. Come check out the shop and give Mike a call. He was at the show too and saw your car there. I think he might have given you his card too. www.haddadmotorsports.com 310-412-8032 My name is Dave by the way.
  21. i know the sr20det and the rb25 has been swapped in. People have contemplated putting the titan v8 in there but i have never seen a SBC in there.
  22. let me know if you wanna make me a deal on the drivetrain.
  23. there was no DOHC maxima in 89. An 89 maxima would have the VG30e engine which does not run any stronger than the L series motor. And the maxima is front wheel drive so you are going to have the wrong transmission. It really sounds like you are not prepared to do any kind of motor swapping seeing how you don't really know what you are talking about. This isn't a walk in the park especially when you are trying to be different and come up with your own new thing. The cheapest way to motor swap is with a SBC. I guess thats not unique enough for you though. Good Luck!
  24. No, but ford injectors are the same as LT1 injectors. Search for ford or bosch 24 lb injectors on ebay. Or just search for stock LT1 injectors on ebay.
  25. its called an external torx. The size you need is an E-4. I got a set of external Torx from autozone for 15 bucks.
