1. We use the W style without many problems...sometimes I find it easier to use if you put the back down a little bit (the part that holds the wire insulation)...but hey,if you have an image of the crimpers your talking about, post it up, im interested

4. takes a lot of practice to get super clean welds....looks like your using a lot of filler too... Like monkey said "Keep yourself moving, and do the same thing every time. It's like a ritual, if you do the same thing.. puddle, fill rod, move, puddle fill rod move.. it will look the same." Also, if you rest your elbow on something like your leg to keep it steady, this will help with the "uniform" look. Keep it up! Also.....search for how to videos on the net, came across "Tony's Welding Series" by looking on google videos.... http://video.google.com/ heres a pic of some work from our resident fab guy **WARNING** WELD PORN***
5. Dont know which seats these are but they appear to be reupholstered Recaros. I can update when I know for sure. The fit is good but not ment for larger people To mount, redrilled factory front mounts and welded on 1 inch tabs onto the rear mounts since the rails are slightly smaller then factory rails. PS- they are currently for sale/ trade http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=145449
6. enjoyin the progress, however, the pics at the beginning dont work anymore =/ nice work!
7. When i purchased my 260z, i got it from the original owner and she was telling me stories about the car and one of those was the 2 trips from Cali to NY and back....that really shows what these cars can do....Hell, I woulda been scared to drive my old 240sx to LA and back here to the Bay Area
8. Im stayin tuned into this one.... I have thought about going the same route....BUT the few major reasons I am hesitating is because you are pretty much guaranteed to wreck your car if you do any kind of competitive drifting....it happens....to everyone.... and these things are considered "classics"...so wrecking one would bring me to tears... I have had a few 240sx's, about 5 Datsun 510s, and about 5 AE86s and what I have learned from trying to hang my 260z sideways is chassis flex is a huge enemy and the heavy front end doesnt help much either. I have noticed I can "hang" the rear end a little longer due to the added torque of the inline 6, but the manual steering also makes it "interesting" to manhandle in a 30 mph sweeping drift. Kudos! I give props to whoever can get crazy loose in a Z, as they take some time to get used to!
9. Sounds awesome! Troy is a good guy, ive had him work on a few of my Datsun 510s and always priced right too!
10. 13. Being an MECP certified installer, i have learned that the dimmer/illumination function typically causes problems. If not with your older cars system, the radios displays life is usually diminished. With older cars, they usually use a common ground system, but I havent torn apart my Z yet. When I decide to tear into it, I plan on rewiring my stereo because the power demands/draws that new-age electronics have on this older wiring makes me slightly uneasy. Scosche also makes a hidden antenna that I have used in past cars with great sucess, compareable to a external antenna in signal strength, to shave the ugly one the PO put on there.
