Bastard..... now im going to have to flush/mold the headlight buckets to the fenders. That looks smooth. everything on that car is the sickness! Those are the same miriors I wanted to run as well.
Glad to see a finished car, gives me a little insperation to go out to the garage and get to work
EDIT- Whats the offset on those rear wheels?

My roomate has an SRT-4. I like it. Upgrades seem to be pretty endless, fuel milage isnt too bad on the highway if you stay off boost. Seats are alright. Did I mention the cup holders.... they hold the BIG jack in the box cups without getting in the way of the shifter
Oil catch can is simple, there are a few home depot solutions for around $30.

Im curious about this too, ive got an old momo monte carlo wheel that I would love to have recovered

Am I the only person when I read this thought "hrm, an LS1 into a 944, 928, or other front engine porsche would be pretty easy"
It would already have a radiator, the engine bay large enough for a good sized V8, and a transaxle already in the back. I know the older rear engine stuff is lighter, but I wouldnt mind a little luxury or ease of swap into one of the front engined cars.

Im mid way doing mine as well. I was thinking of spraying some of that crap "chrome" spray paint in there to cover the soot in the drivers side housing.
I used WD40 to clean the soot off of the lens them self, it worked out pretty well!

That thing is awesome, showed up on a local forum a while back.

I havent actually posted anything about my RB project yet. I might snap some pics of it tomorrow. The car was wrecked by myself about a year ago and has been a slow rebuild/mod process since then. Its a 60k milage 75 280z.
Basically, im going to run the RB25DET. Its the gen two with the ingitors built into the ECU. Ive got the billet mounts from rick. Oil pan from nismoparts and am getting ready to drop the car on the motor and make my trans mount. I got the motor out of a wrecked 240sx (oddly enough I helped with its swap in the first place) Just slowly putting along as time and mainly money allows.
I have been reading alot in the RB forum just learning and looking at pics and what not. I hope to have the car running next spring.

Ive got a spare rod, it has the 8mm bolts though. PM me if your interested and I will send it your way.
-
I had a piston that looked like that. The peppering on top of my piston was caused by detonation, likewise the rod bearing was worn in the same way.
-
Ive got a pair of rears, fronts are gone already. Ill trade for the 240 ones if they are in good condition.

I owned the CA20E version of the S12. It wasnt a bad car at all. I had it for a little over 6 months. The rear suspension is the same as a Z31, the front is almost the same as the Z31.
http://www.club-S12.org is the site to hang out on if youve got one, or are looking at them.
Mine had roughly 200k on it, I did replace the brake rotors, and went to hell on the new ones with no warping problems. The car had good snow manners, I have a feeling with a good set of tires it would be quite good in the snow (not that you have to deal with that, just saying) It was slow as hell, I assume the turbo or V6 version might be acceptable.
Im sorta looking for one, if you decide not to get the one you are looking at I might be interested in the contact info.

10th at boundary bay airport. I wont be making it up this year

I would be interested in a basic drawing with some measurements. Im going to be needing one pretty soon.

Drax, that was the car I was speaking of. Saw him racing at mission a few weeks ago. It was quite fast around the track.

I have seen a few as well, being at the all brit field meet in portland this last weekend, I saw more than a few. The one that caught my eye was the S2000 powered World Class Motorsports Ultralite. One thing I really liked about the car is that I fit in it (6'5" 250lbs) and it should have been fast as hell. I didnt get to drive, but the owners were more than happy about the performance.
My other favorite one, though I cant find any info about it, is one that runs around the racetracks here in the Pacific NW that is powerd by a 1 litre bike motor. Its pretty neat.

The starion wheels have like a 1mm larger center bore than the Z hubs. Your really lucky to get a set of those for the price you did, I just purchased a set (like 10 min ago) and am paying almost $500 shipped. I will have a spare pair of the rear 8" wheels if you are interested in playing with them. Im in everett BTW.

If you check out http://www.northwestnissans.com you will find a large number of nissan folks from BC, washington, and oregon. While the crowd is mostly 240sx kids there are a few Z guys on there (me included)
There is a huge Datsun/nissan meet comming up in vancouver. Its on like the 10th and 11th of september with auto-x, and a carshow. I of course dont have all the info at hand right now. Later

The KA24DE may be a good choice for you. It is a little bigger at 2.4l. It makes like 155hp/150tq-ish in stock form and will get over 25 mpg. At the same time, people are bolting turbo's onto them as well. The came in 240sx's from 1991-98 and since the SR20 swap is the hot trend in 240sx world now, they are pretty cheap if you look (I just paid $250 for engine/trans/ECU/wiring)

Thats cool, I wish my Z was together to go drift it some. Ive gone to a few events out here. twice with an old 200sx, and the last two with a 240sx. Power shouldnt be too much of an issue in a car as light as yours. The 200sx was maybe (on a good day) making 75-80 whp and I had no probs sliding it around, no smoke but it was still sliding.
Just some quick questions about the "scene" in your area. How often do you guys get an event? About how many cars show up? Whats the cost? If you were to rank yourself out of all the cars entered, where do you think your skill level is?
I think thats about it, Im just curious about the scene other places than here (pacific NW)
