  1. ok... checked the head temp sensor, no broken wires there, but i checked both wires, are they supposed to be grounded?? cuz when i check them to the negitive batt post, ohms came to 0 on the sensor side connection.
  2. ok, head temp sensor.. got ya now i have put 2 of those in and it does the same thing... and if i unplug it, it runs extremly rich, like it supposed to.
  3. this is for a turbo, what is the chts?? and where is it at??
  4. what is the pin number on the ecu for the water temp sensor that sends the signal to the ecu??
  5. no the water temp sensor on the thermostat housing.. not the one sending the signal to the gauge, the one that sends the signal to the ecu..
  6. researching this mod, a friend of mine i found a STI mod for a impreza intercooler that sprays water on the intercooler to cool it off even more.. gains of 20hp on that car. Now.. my thoughts... i have a volvo ic.. say i take a FI fuel pump, a water tank to hold the water, 4 to 6 n/a injectors and shoot it at the intercooler durning say, solos, or drag racing. Would the water be atomized enough to not effect the natural air flow through the ic and rad?? or would it be better to mount 4 injectors on the corners of the ic, and shoot them across the ic intead of into, and let the water go through with the fan and wind. what are your thoughts??
  7. it is fixed.. cleaned the injectors, and got a head temp sensor... its all good now
  8. hey jeffp... i di have a fuel pressure guage in the line where i can see it at all times... idle its at 30lbs and in full boost, 50lbs at 10#'s of boost... i have went through the afm reading voltage ohm's.. checks out... have been talking to scottyMIZ alot and he and others have come down to the head temp sensor... so im replacing that.. in fact scottyMIZ was here this weekend and i cleaned my injectors and then put it back together.. ran the same.. but as i started it more and more and drove it it seemed to be running fine now... still replacing the head temp sensor. ScottyMIZ raced a 12 second elipse.. if he got just a bit of a better launch.. my god, he woulda beat him... but he was right on him...
  9. i am running a volvo intercooler.. 10psi.. swapped the ecu's out.. car run perfect.. then lik everytime i started it... it would get worse and worse...something is telling it something... retarded the timing today.. no help... im gonna go a little farther and see what it does... gonna replace the head temp sensor too tomarrow.
  10. hey tony.. check the afms today.. both go from 5 to 0... so its something else that is telling the ecu to do it

  12. have a 81zxt engine in my 76z.. running a 76z intake manifold, stock t3 turbo, volvo ic, on 10#'s of boost... i dont have access to a laptop... and im having probs with my car right now.. running fine sunday and then it just started leaning out... suspecting a faulty afm.. i'll find out tommarow

    i have a 81zxt engine in my 76z.. running a 76z intake manifold, stock t3 turbo, volvo ic, on 10#'s of boost... i dont have access to a laptop... and im having probs with my car right now.. running fine sunday and then it just started leaning out... suspecting a faulty afm.. i'll find out tommarow
  15. same on a turbo....would it work without that option?? im gonna call bucsher racing today and ask some questions... i am also looking into tony fruzza's MAS conversion for the first gen FI cars when its working...

  17. 76 280z with a 81zxt engine, stock turbo, 10 #'s of boost have a 76z intake manifold, volvo intercooler, 2.5" straight exsaust. When i get i the high rpms..like around 5000, i lean out, to the point of where the a/f guage doesnt read anymore. now i changed out the ecu a couple of days ago, and i ran perfct again... but now its like it learned to lean out again... what would cause this problem??

  19. also i am running a fuel regulator from a 300zxt.
  20. it cant be the injectors.. could it?? cuz when the ecu is "fresh" when i swap em out.. the car runs fine.. basically perfect.. then over time, like 3 to 4 days it just starts slowly leaning out. there is something that it is learnign from that is making it dumber. I have replaced the o2 sensor also, no change, a/f guage runs cleaner
  21. i run premium all the time... i have a fp guage where i can see it all the time.. full boost im at 50# of fuel pressure. i also made my timeing back to stock.. no change. No i dont hear pinging.. watching my air fuel guage
  22. here is my setup, 76 280z with a 81zxt motor, stock turbo, straight out 2.5" exsaust, 76 280z intake manifold, volvo i/c... i have a problem.. i am running very lean under high rpms... i am at 10#'s of boost. i swapped out computers and it worked fine for a day, but then it starts leaning out again.. its like its learning something... any ideas of what could be wrong??
