  1. My friend owns a 90 Honda Accord. It has a 2.2l 140hp motor. Well it spun a bearing. He is poor pizza delivery guy, and can't afford to fix it correctly plus I don't have the time to help him with a motor install. So I decide to do the best I could do with out replacing the motor. I replaced all of the rod bearings for him. It still tapped. He then ordered one pair of oversized rod bearing, We sanded the crank for about 2.5 hours, it still ruined the new bearings. Then I came up with this idea. I pulled out the bad piston, block the crank's oil holes with a pair of bearings and radiator clamp. I then unhooked the injector, removed the plug wire. I also removed the rocker arms. To keep the check engine light off I hooked up a old Z car injector to the cars harness. The car is runnig like a champ, well a champ with one leg:) Here is my question, is the crank going to break due to being off balance? He has put about 250 miles on the motor like this. Thanks Jason
  2. It works great, I can lean out the untill will stall or richen it so much it won't rev up. You don't need the tach adapter just find the wire that is from the distributor to the ECCS, it's a digtal signal.
  3. He is lifting his foot off the gas during shifts. And I know the we have replace the bearing at least twice. I going to tell him to try better fuilds next time. I heard the Redline make some good fuilds, maybe he will try that. thanks Jason
  4. I posting this message for a friend. Here's his problem. A few years ago just about everyone was saying to use a the NA transmission instead of the BW turbo unit(shifts better). He was using a NA trans for quite some time while the was mostly stock, with good luck. Well in the past years we have put 3 transmissions and only none has surived(13's). Most won't even move the car, have no gears left. Is there anything that can be done to make these transmissions stronger? P.S. Everyone shifted fine no grinds or anything untill BOOM no gears. Thanks Jason
  5. Will any of the Silvia Rear-end parts fit in the R200 rear-ends .AKA the LSD's from Japan out of crashed Ex-drift S13-14-15's. thanks Jason
  6. Yep, your car sounds like it's running pretty good. With a better '60 foot you will be on your way to the 15's. I have went from 16.1@85stock to 15.2@89modified "a tenth at a time" in my 81NA auto. I think of it like chopping down a tree, you have take out little bits at time, but sooner or later the trees going to fall(13.9). Jason
  7. If I welded in injector bosses I would have make something that would hold the injectors down into the holes. With the part of the stock EFI intake I would have the two screws on each side of the injectors. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  8. I been thinking about a idea that can get twin TB onto a L28 motor. It seems that SU powered cars are in general more powerful than EFI car with the same mods. This sould NOT be! This leads me to think that it must be the shape of the EFI intake. Here's my idea. Cut the part of a EFI that mounts the injectors. Then cut about that much off a pair of SU intakes. Then have the two parts weded together. Next remove the studs for the SU's have the holes filled and then drill and tap the same bolt pattern as the trottle body (about 5mm bigger than the SU pattern). Port the SU's intake and make linkages. Then have a Muffler shop make a larger surge tank with one 3in inlet and two ~2.5 in outlets, (this last part would only needed if using stock computers AKA: AFM or MAF set-up's). Well what do you guys think?? I have gathered all of the parts needed, the next thing is getting it done, but I decided to ask you guys first. Thanks Jason
  9. DUH! I've done it again that was suppose to be under the topic of "Stock L28ET on Nitrous" JasonRB260ZX
  10. I using ZEX with a 75 shot on my NA Automatic. I also using ZXT injectors,AFPR and a MSD Fuel pump PN 2555. I think that is the same as the Vortech pump. If so, it will put out atleast 95psi, I've tested it. I'm not say that it's big enough for your car but it is working great for my set-up. good luck Jason
  11. Hello, I needing to get another clutch for my 79ZX (mostly stock). The only upgrade on the car is a 300zx ECU.The car went from running a 16.5 to about 15.5-15.9. The cheap Autozone clutch is now toast. It was only a year old, I'd been babying it since the first test drive. I did everything by the book. I can get another clutch from Autozone for FREE. I was thinking that if I got one and had the flywheel stepped it would work better. But how much of a step-up?? I really want this thing to grab! Thanks Jason
  12. I'm think of replacing the F54/N47 comb with a P90 head. I want to get the head shaved. I noticed that some of the website say to shave it .080 and others say .100. Which is correct? I also assuming this is metic measurement, right? I can't seem to find out what headgasket to use. And Even if I use the Felpro(1mm) gasket I'm only getting 9.84:1 comp ratio. So I figured I'd test it using the 0.6mm headgasket. I then get a 10.27:1, that's more like it! But I figure that is is somewhat equal to taking off .120mm+ off the head as far as the timing chain is concerned. Am I doing something wrong or are the websites stating a higher figure for the comp ratio.I'm wanting a 10.2:1 to a 10.6:1 or I might as well keep the F54/N47 combo. Thanks for any help JasonRB260ZX P.S. I thinking the p90's peanut shaped chamber will allow me to run more nitrous safely.
  13. My friend has already paid for a 280zx widebody kit from these people. He paid extra to have it shipped in only 2 days. The seller made it sound like the kit was already made. Come to find out the kit wasn't even finished yet. That was two weeks ago. And now he can't even get a hold of anyone at all.On top of this I'm hearding bad things about the quailty!! I was really excited to hear that someone was making fiberglass parts for the 280zx and 300zx, now I'm wishing that someone else with more quailty and business sense was making these parts. Good luck JasonRB260ZX
  14. I would love to have the money to get one of these heads along with the intake and exhaust manifolds. Then start making copies of these parts and selling them to people on this and other forums. I think that this mod alone would pretty much bring a stop to everyone buying RB,SR,2JZ, and many other motors for swap's into Z's. Even though I have RB26DETT. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  15. I seen lots of cars with the Valve cover breather bypassed, but can I install a small air filter on the crankcase vent too. I know that if I did I would have to replace the PCV with a bolt so that I would not have any vacuum leaks. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  16. Can a Stainless steel O2 bung be welded to a standard 280zx pipe? thanks JasonRB260ZX
  17. Does anybody know if a "Arizona Z car" header will fit a ZX? I'm thinking of replacing my F54/N47 head combo with a P90. The P90 would make my current header useless. I would be doing the "P79 .080mm head mod" to it. My friend has the AZC header on his 260Z and it looks much better than the MSA/Pacesetter headers. Thanks JasonRB260Z P.S. Can stanless steel O2 bung be welded to a standard header.
  18. Sounds like you might have left off a vacuum line off.If not you might want to check and see if a 76 has a EGR valve. I've seen where the mounting block is cracked. This happen to my 79 and I removed the EGR valve and block off plate. If that's still not it might the intake gasket or the seal around the tips of the injectors. Good luck JasonRB260ZX
  19. He is wanting to get a bigger fuel pump, and injectors before he up's the boost.Plus his manual boost control does this... 10#= 1st and 2nd gear, 12#= 3rd, and 15#= 4th. So I figure that the average is about 12psi. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  20. Will it fit a 82-83 ZX? And how about a ZX that used to be non-turbo,the 79-81 with the steering box. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  21. I would like to get your thoughts of this set-up. The car is my friend 81ZX NA with a 83zxT motor. Here is what he already has. SDS EM3D(fuel only),Crane HI-6S with boost retard, small air-water intercooler core=10x5x4( 3gal ice resv.)Greddy BOV,no cat/muffler. This car ran 13.9@101 with 12psi and bad 60' 2.1-2.2. Here is what We plain on getting before next race season starts. Larger fuel pump and 444cc injectors,3in exhaust. Then a larger turbo, but question is which one? I'm thinking of using a ZEX kit after the intercooler, to help lower air temp, and boost power a little( 55Hp shot). How does this sound? Or how about water injection? Or better yet both N2O and WATER. Give me your ideas? Thanks JasonRB260zx
  22. I would see if a Apexi Super AFC will work on our cars. I've seen them listed for cars that still had the AFM like the 280zxT.Like 90's MR2's. The S-AFC has a setting that will allow for open-vent BOV.Plus it would allow for some rpm based tuning of the fuel. Good Luck JasonRB260ZX
  23. I'm a BIG fan of EFI, but I would not put it on a 240-260Z. As far as I know there are no 12sec 1/4mile non-turbo Z's. Enough said JasonRB260ZX
  24. Thanks, I have already got the Elderbrock on my 81 NA.It's faily quite. I will be removing it from the Z when I install a 2.5 inch exhaust on the Z with a N1 at the back. My friend's 260z has a N1 and it is much quiter that his old Flowmaster. That leaves the Elderbrock free to use on the Maxima. I'm only going to use the N1 for looks. I going to use second muffler as the main sound deading device. If the combo(Elderbrock/Apexi)is to loud, I'll look into getting a Dynomax muffler. I have heard lots and lots of good stuff about Dynomax. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  25. I got a question about a idea I come up with for my 92SE Maxima. Object:A good flowing pretty quit exhaust. Idea:Install a 2.5 Elderbrock muffler in place of a cat and finish it off with a universal 2.5 Apexi N1 and all new piping. I think that this set up would look good, without being much louder than stock, but flow much more.I don't need to keep the cat, no emission test. What do you guys think? I think that cars like my Maxima does not need to be heard, like sports cars do. thanks JasonRB260ZX P.S. I know that should ask the Maxima fourms but they a not nearly knowledgeable a most of the Z car people. There idea of "a swap" is replacing the stock windsheild washers with the LED type.
