  1. Name: Jason Gillick AKA JasonRB260ZX Location: Cleveland GA USA Car: 82 280zx turbo (70,000miles) Motor: RB26DETT from 98 R33 half-cut E-mail: typezx@hotmail.com
  2. Get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This similar to getting larger injectors, but is adjustable. If you happened to get too big of injectors then you car will most likey not idle and foul the plugs within seconds. good luck Jason
  3. That sounds good to me. I will be buying one for my non-turbo, if it goes into production. I sure that most of my Z friend will too. good luck JasonRB260ZX
  4. I found it at Ebay. They talked like there where plaining on getting more of them.
  5. I got my half-cut from NYblock.com they are located in Atlanta and North Carolina. They have been importing motors since 1983, and have just now started importing high performance motors. Very nice people and willing to bargain. good luck JasonRB260ZX
  6. I'd say give it a shot!! What have you got to loose. I had though about buing a cheap set of coilovers for a Honda and tring to make them fit. for $100 it would be worth it. Good Luck Jason
  7. I might of gotten it, but my e-mail accout is trashed daily by junk mail so my filter is set to exclusive. I read through the junk mail really quick and if it does not say something about Z's, Skylines, Maximas, I will most likely miss it. Send me another, I will be on the look out. JasonRB260ZX
  8. How can I wire the SDS EM3F up to use the stock RB26 coils. The only SDS system that I have used is the one that only adjust fuel. So I,m blind as to what would need and not need for the timing. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  9. It is the GTR oil pan it looks exactly like the on that I have on my motor now.I wondering if this oil pan would work on a ZX because the steering rack is on the back side of the Xmember on the ZX. Good Luck JasonRB260ZX
  10. Yes I agree with the first post "let's forget the LT1":)As for the SR I would love to see one in a Z car of any year. I have a picture of a SR20 in a 94-up Supra, the front of the motor does not even go past the strut towers. The SR motor is all aluminum, so the Z would be even light that stock. I also think that the 240sx are just as heavy or heavier than a early Z. And also the wear items like water pumps, timing belts, seals would be much easier to find, because of the SER Sentra and some other US cars had a SR20DE. Good luck JasonRB260ZX
  11. Alot of people on this forum, myself included know the Z31 harness very well. I would be glad to try and help, as would most of the other people that have done the AFM to MAS swap. Good Luck JasonRB260ZX
  12. How much HP do you think a Apexi GT intercoolerf for a GTR will handle? It measures 24x11x3/ 3in inlet/outlets. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  13. Thanks guys If Stoney is using SDS with the stock coils then that is most likely what I will get. I don't really see how SDS's and Tec II's coils can be better than Nissan's, aren't they Delco(GM) coils. One bad thing about the Apexi unit is that, you can't adjust timing according to boost only RPM. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  14. What do you guys think of the Apexi Power FC? http://www.apexi-usa.com/electronics_fc.asp I have already bought a RB26DETT and I thinking that I want to install the motor and get it running using the stock computer. To do this I need to buy two stock AFM's,I might of found a pair. I'm also not wanting to loose the stock nissan coil packs and have to run spark plug wires(that is SOOO last century:)I talked to the guy at SDS and said that the stock coils peter-out at 8psi,??I thought that the stock boost(RB26)was set higher than that? So I started look into other EFI set-ups. The Apexi system seems to have it all except for I might have to keep the AFM's even though it allows for larger ones. I have really only two questions for you guys. Does anybody here know if the Apexi will allow you to switch over to a MAP sensor? And could I use the stock coil packs with a SDS EM3F? Thanks JasonRB260ZX
  15. It too easy to just have someone make a 3in for the Z rather that try to make one fit from a ZX. The reason that he is selling a 3in for the ZX is that most shops won't even try to install a 3in system in a ZX.I know I tried!!! Good Luck JasonRB260ZX
  16. I have a pair of 300zxT manifolds if that helps.I bought these part when I was plaining on turboing my Maxima. I have the driverside manifold, crossover pipe, and the passenger side manifold, lower turbo intake, maybe a upper intake, and random rubber boots.Let me know if interested. Good Luck Jason And when your done I want to see some pix:)
  17. Does anybody know if the Hybrid turbo will fit into a ZX that used to be a non-turbo? I mean will it clear the stearing box.I know that when we installed the motor we had to cut the wastgate opener's mounting bracket. And also about how much HP will the T04B housing support?
  18. I got it for $4700 plus tax from NYblock.com. I saved on the shipping because they where in NC and I'm in GA. The people there where very nice, they have been importing motors since 1983 ,but only now are starting to import high performance motors. I have already gotten the motor started. With buying the front cut I have lots of little parts to sell that will help bring the total cost down, and I can see how every thing is layed out in the GTR.I think I'm going to try to find a transmission at SkylinesDU.com Good luck JasonRB260ZX
  19. I have gotten a RB26. As of now the motor is still in the half-cut. I have started the RB26 a couple of times. BUT the motor is missing the AFM's. I wondering if I should try and use the factory ECU or not. I was planing on use the SDS system because I used it before and like it. But I'm starting to reconsider using SDS. Would anybody want to sell there AFM's. Come to think of it,where would be a good place to get vaccum from this motor?? Thanks Jason RB260ZX
  20. Just got the half-cut started!!!It's running rich because it missing both AFM's and the intercooler. I just glad it's running.Does anybody know if any american nissan's use the same AFM. It has a diferent style plugs than the one for L28's. Thanks Jason RB26DETT
  21. I just have gotten back from buying that very motor. The people are more that helpful. They have been importing motors since 1983, but have just now started importing high performance motors. They also have motors from Supra,Silvia,Prelude and much more. E-mail them, I think they may be getting a another RB26 pretty soon. Tell them Jason sent you. Good luck JasonRB260ZX
  22. I just bought a half-cut of a R33 GTR cop car. Everything seems to be in great shape. I'm going to try to start it tommorrow(half-cut that is).I'm will be putting the RB26DETT in my 82 280zxT. How many of us have RB powered Z's now? And how many other a seriously planing on doing it? Wish me luck! JasonRB260ZX
  23. When buying a RB26DETT it better to buy a half-cut or just the motor/trans/ecu. I'm thinking the the half cut would be better because you would really know the miles and it would be less likey to be damaged or missing hard to find sensors. Jason
  24. I will one day be interested as I plan on installing a RB26DETT in my 82zxT. Jason
