  1. Im very interested in the plate as well....$
  2. PROBLEM SOLVED....WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO When i was doing the final clean up of the wiring i put too much tension on the power wire to the injector relays and it had a loose connection. It was very strange because when i would get the initial injector prime pulse it wasnt firing the injectors...it was firing the coil...Weird huh this whole problem has taught me a very big lesson.....Dont overlook the little stuff, be very neat in your wiring, check all connections before assuming anything.....Who would of thought that would of been the problem.... Braap thanks for all you help and pm's

  4. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119921 link above is from the fuel delivery board.... Ok heres my latest problem in trying to diagnose the 280s intermitent behavior The car will crank up and run fine for a few minutes..then it go's lean and stumbles for a second and dies and if it restarts it will do the same thing all over again. IF IT RESTARTS earlier i checked the injectors and im not getting a prime pulse or any pulse for that matter @ the actual injector, so that led me to beleive that my ecu was to blame so i removed it from the 280 and tested it in my 260 and it started the car and ran fine. the prime LED is lighting up but the injector isnt firing. i cant figure out why the injectors would fire sometimes and not all the time. When it starts the injectors are getting power and opening but when it doesnt start im not getting any signal @ the injector ? At this point im not sure what to do so any input would be appreciated.
  5. Let me give a little background info on the situation. The car was running like a champ for several weeks. I took the front cover off to fix an oil leak last week, retimed the motor, reset the timing in the megasquirt, started the car and now i have this problem..so nothing has really changed since the car was running great except for resetting the timing (and the timing is correct on the motor and the ms&s. I go from having a great running car to a car that wont hardly start and is missing like crazy when it gets into boost and nothing has really changed. It idles smoothly and runs smoothly out of boost but if i stab the throttle and try to get into the boost it will backfire and start to die out. Supra 440's Yes i run a resistor pack voltage hasnt been an issue thus far and the car WAS running great for several weeks. after inspecting the fuel system im starting to think its electrical/ms&s related...
  6. no changes while idling..same thing happens although the fuel pressure didnt rise.
  7. Oh yeah, last night i checked the filter, removed the rail and injectors to check for debris and found nothing.
  8. LM1 I will go try this right now and report back with the results
  9. pressure gauge is on the fuel rail as well as the regulator. I wasnt watching the gauge on the regulator only the one on the rail.
  10. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=746677#post746677 link to fuel section post...same as here So heres the problem...the car is idling and everything appears to be working fine...All of the sudden it does the following at the same time Go's lean, voltage drops from 13.4 to 12.5, fuel pressure go's from 48 to 58....all at the same time and then the car dies....and IF it restarts it takes a while. Im thinking trash in the lines somewhere ? Car 77 280z megasquirt, 440cc inj, pallnet rail, aeromotive fpr, walbro pump, holset, etc Any ideas would be appreciated

  12. Congrats on the new car Ted..I finally have the 280 running again so give me a call if you want to check it out.
  13. Hurry up and update again !!! I NEED MORE !!!
  14. Wow, Z's are popping up in Houston all over the place. We should all get together and cruise or something.
  15. Yep, Stock Dished pistons from a 77 280z 280z's with dished pistons yeilds the same compression as the Turbo Motor with dished Pistons
  16. Depends how good the tune is !!! A friend of mine runs 19psi on stock block all day long for about a year and hasnt had any piston popping experiences. I wouldnt suggest it , But he's been doing it for a while now. 280tyler if your going from N/A to Turbo and upgrading the fuel, etc... There will be a huge difference in performance before and after the Turbo is installed. I just finished my motor (n42 block, p90a) and i cant even begin to describe how much harder the car pulls than it did when it was N/A. Start out at 10psi and work your way up....WITH A WIDEBAND.....tune, tune, tune, tune
  17. Congrats, Big Phil My car started for the first time on New Years day as well. Holset,MS&S, Supra 440's, etc Im still bundling all the wires and cleaning it up, but it runs and all the systems appear to be working correctly. I went from N/A to Holset and MS&S so the car is just a Tad quicker. Congrats Phil
  18. My Dad has a couple boxes of pictures from sebring and road Atlanta from the 70s that i will scan this weekend and add to the post. Any of you old School racers ever heard of Peter Gregg?? My dad worked @ Greg Motorcars in Florida for a long time and has alot of pictures of Peter's cars.

  21. Spec stage 2+ or even stage3 I had the stage 2+ on a hot N/A and it never slipped
  22. Ok folks i need a little input from all the Hybridz shooters out there. I would like to get involved in a competitive shooting sport. I already shoot Bullseye and love it so far. Bullseye isnt something you pick up overnight and you have to concentrate on the fundamentals to become a contender when it comes time to go to the match. I have thought about idpa and am just looking for some input....Oh Yeah..I only shoot @ paper..Nothing living..unless their trying to steal the Z.. Current Arsenal: .22 Ruger MKIII Hunter, Match Dot Sight, Volquartsen mods .22 Ruger MKIII 22/45, Match Dot Sight, Volqartsen Mods .22 Aldo 6 shooter .22 High Standard Feild King (old School) 1911 Kimber Stainless 2, match Dot 1911 Colt Gold Cup Ed Masaki Tuned Glock 19c So whats your favorite competition and why ??? What guns can be used???
  23. If anyone still has any interest in epoxying a floor please pm me and i will give you all the advice i can....I do this everyday for a living and can probabley help out with product selection as well as durability and use selection....PPG MEGASEAL is one of the best for the money in my opinion. I recently completed a new PEPSI plant here in Houston and we did all 360,000sqft in MEGASEAL 2 part modified urethane....you can run a fork lift with the blades down on the floor and the sheen isnt even effected... If you need any input i will provide all the info possible
  24. You will want to run a p-90 or p-90a(tick,tick) and possibley a 1mm or 2mm head gasket depending on your desired compression ratio. you cant run alot of boost with the 42/42 combo. I am currently in the final stages of fab work with my turbo car...which has a n42 lower end (stock pistons) that i outfitted with arp hardware, bearings, etc, etc...the ring lands are whats has me concerned but i guess I'll find out the outcome in about a week. search "Z Calculator" above and play with different heads on the n42 block until you find your desired compression ratio. My car will be running right at 6.8-7 so it will be a turd out of boost but im cool with that. I wanted something i could drive around nice and slow....then turn the boost controller up a little and have some fun. Also if you go p90 you already have the cam.
  25. Exactly, The bolt thread is correct. I was just concerned when i put the bolt through the bellhousing hole and it was not a tight fit. I installed the tranny last night and as soon as i saw the dowels i knew there was nothing to fear...So thanks for all of your help with the problem guy's.
