  1. i believe he was at 20psi...
  2. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=136780 this tread is an ok starting point..but i see you are going the V8 route and that thread is pretty much all L6 but it shows what most the guys use... as for the diesel turbos...most of the guys here use the HY35 that should be a good match since you see little civics pushing them hard but it looks like we have heat issues...but since your going V8 you would want the reliable HX35 which is the 12cm version (i believe) alot of DSM/ford guys run those... As for me, when i do decide to upgrade i plan of searching the HY35 a bit more...There is tons of info on the hx but little on the hy. I would like to see if there is anyone out there that has ran it without blowing seals ect. If i dont feel comfortable with the reliablity after searching then i will just suck it up and go the GT35.
  3. id prolly spend most of it trying to figure out how to live longer... Time flys fast enough as is
  4. oh wow... thanks for the info...i actually just (yesturday) got my z back running with the orginal CAS...it has been a pain in the butt for me so i just use that OEM napa part till i upgrade...
  5. your soda looks flat... oh yeah and nice turbo
  6. Hi guys, I am in need of a crank angle sensor out of a 83zxt. I believe mine is not working:(... If anyone has one let me know. Thanks Flames_187
  7. when you tune that lean (14)and the low kpa ( below 50) does your car lean out on light throttle (15-16)? mine did so i tuned for 12.5 at idle and on light throttle i get into the high 13s...this is prolly cuz im not using TPS now that i think about it... :-/
  8. i had a similar problem...i was advised to turn my lamda way down ...it smoothed things right out...the way it was explained to me was that i was allowed the AFR meter to correct the A/F ratio. i had mine set to 100% and now i am at 5-10%...
  9. when i wired mine up i first wired it to the analog 1 and got the same readings but then i spliced the wire going to my relay board (analog 2) and got good readings. The manuals seems to show the gauge going to analog 1 but i thought it would make sense to atleast try it on analog 2 and it worked...Feel free to tell me if this was a bad idea... P.S. the LC-1 seems glitchy for me too..mainly during warm-up..but then again...but i am still tuning that part.
  10. are you giving the ms board power?
  11. my problem turns out to be different. I just realized my MAP is reading in the 30s for all rpm...
  12. i noticed this too in my car but i was also running rich (while tuning) and flooded my plugs while tuning the crank...i brought some new plugs and a new fpr. I am going to install my fpr first run for a bit then plugs...I will let you know if any of this helps. P.S. for me it was happening around 1500 and dropping to maybe 1300 will little throttle. i didnt eye it that closely cuz the afr was in the mid 11s
  13. now you have somebody to burn your air filters....HAhahahaha [inside joke]
  14. So i finally get a OK tune wit MS and decide to but my interior back together...i turn the car on to listen to the radio while doing it and notice the MS isnt turning on...reading from past post i check for power then decide to reboot the firmware...now im getting the signature "a" and portcheck is doing the same...I followed the reboot steps word for word...this happened to me before and i sent it to DIY just for them to reboot it and work perfect... the steps i did were : 1. turn power off 2. put the bootloader pin in b/ld then turn power back on 3. use the downloader 2.0 software and upload my 2.885 ver 4. close software 5. turn off power 6. remove b/ld 7. turn back on then nothing happens sometimes it cant load the firmware then sometimes it does but same results... anybody had this happen to them...i would hate to have to send the board back to DIY
  15. i agree with cygnus...vista is so glitchy that the company i work for decided to stay with xp (made IT happy) but if you have to upgrade get yourself a cheap laptop with a good battery and a serial port...my laptop doesnt have a serial port and the docking station only works plugged in
  16. just to update...my misfire is 99% gone...what i did was turn down the lamda and rpm averaging lag factors...it seems if they are too high , the signal jumps around more...I also tuned the VQ tables and timing table better with wideband...i noticed i was leaning out badly in certain areas... I still have to tune my cranking pulse width...everytime i seem to have it set close and try to start it up the next day its like i am back to square one...its real touchy.. I also had to turn down the warmup enrichment...it was making my idle too rich ...finally time to put on my intecooler and up the boost to 10psi...cant wait! thanks for the help guys
  17. thanks for the info guys, I didnt realize turning down the spark timing have a negitive effect I will go back to my original table and get some new plugs in the car. P.S. i only drove it around the neiborhood cause of the misfire its a slight misfire but happens consistently...its still noticable to me and drives me crazy...im going to change the ground point to the battery of the car and see if that helps (grounded to body of car right now) ...been searching quite a bit and seen people having to get a better ground.
  18. hey nigel... thats my safe setting...i thought my spark table was too advanced and causing the misfire...now i know its not the cuase but my car did like the detuned settings at idle (stock turbo motor) i fouled my spark plugs so cant do anymore realiable testing for the misfire i did get around to lowering my lamda averaging lag factor 10 to 20 % or the lamda correction (MS2 codes call it differently) seem to lower the flucutation but i am still getting a misfire...i tired turning it to 0 % but then the afr doesnt do any correction and i still get the misfire...i need to get some new plugs 2morrow. I wish i had a spare CAS to see if that could be the problem b/c i really dont think ms is causing it.
  19. sorry didnt realize the pic was small... AFR is set at 13.2 AFR fluctuates from 12.2ish to 13.5 ish i attached the datalog and msq file (megatune ver 2.885) I also tried to hear if the spark plugs are missing and it doesnt sound like it... ROUGH.msq.zip rough datalog.xls.zip
  20. so i finally got time to work on the car... I checked the FPR based on the manual and got about 4-5psi difference (lower). I unplugged the vacuum hose and started the car at it stays at about 32psi...but i am still getting this annoying misfire at all rpm but more noticable at idle. my wideband is not steady at all and looks like its trying to catch my afr setting. I tired lowering my afr settings but that didnt help. (included datalog of jumpy afr at idle) would a faulty FPR cause a misfire? thanks guys!
  21. Thank you that clears up alot...I will follow the manual steps to check the fuel system... [EDIT] It idles but misfires throughout so my first thought was check timing then check spark plugs and they looked fouled (blackened) so i thought the car was gettting too much flow then noticed the my fuel pressure gauge reading 20 ish psi at idle so i started to think maybe the regulator is going bad since the FP is a year old. Its the stock FP (aftermarket oem) and stock FPR so i will check it once i get done with this food safety seminar :-/
  22. hi guys I been battling a misfire for a while now and have some basic questions. 1.) i noticed the fuel pressure at 30 psi when in the on position then dropping to 20ish psi once started. If i was to rev it to about 1700 and hold the fuel pressure would increase then drop back down.Does this point to the fuel pump (FP) or regulator (FPR)? I tired to trick MS to add more fuel thinking it would increase the pressure. It added more fuel (can hear the difference in engine) but pressure was still at 20 psi. 2.) my A/F guage and MS2 gauge reads a 12.5 ish A/F ratio where it is set in the AF table for 13.5. This is at 1200 rpm(ish). Shouldnt MS be trying to match that if my threshold is 1000rpm. setup: stock 83zxt inovative lc-1 A/F setup stock FP and FPR MS2 V3.0 code 2.885 may 31.msq.zip
  23. WOW! that clears ALOT up. thanx matt
