  1. cant seem to find the selers name roadster collectibles. can you check if its the right one. Or just simply post the e-bay listing that you got for the emblem.

The emblem is very nice thats a good buy i want one too. This emblem isnt original its just custom made right?

    Want it anyway.

Never Mind! I found there personal site www.roadstercollectibles.com they got some nice emblems there.

    Thanks

    Mike

  2. I got to ask what is a "Decent Price" if "nobody will pay $500+ for a pan like this"...

For a custom cast pan, $500 would be a KILLER price, IMO. What kind of price range are you saying would be "decent"?

An Aviad or other custom fabricated sheetmetal pan easily has 10 hours of labor in it, and if you can find a decent fabricator for under $50 and hour you are a fortunate person indeed!

Well personally i cant say that if they would have this pan made for $600 i would still probably buy it. Others might not so it depends. An oil pan is an oil pan it serves its purpose even like high flow pans with a baffle kit from Greddy are like $400 AZC oil pan for L28 that was also custom made is $399. Basiclly all i am saying is when you still get this pan there will be modifcations that needs to be made to fit the rear sump and pick up which also will require some work in fabing it out.

I am not trying to say that no body would buy it for that kind of money because every RB guy that is planning to do this swap is probably a wheel man, welder, fabricator and a decent mechanic. So the only other way to make this work is to get Z31 pan for $190 and some change with the sump and pick up cut it fab it to fit and you all set since the RB20 pan was made for a rear sump. Thats just the same way that everyone has done it before or made their own pan. Saves a few bucks. And if Dave from AZC wants to make some of those pans more power to him, i just dont want to see some outrages price on it, becuase of that it wont get a high demand. :(

  3. UH Yeah that would be awesome, I MEAN AWESOME. I dont know about 100+ orders but il defenatlly take 2 for a desent price. Obviously know one will pay like 500+ for a pan like this they might just custom make one for that much money realisticlly speaking. Maybe post this in a Group Buy forum in mean time to see if there is any demand for those old and new RB guys on here.

Glad to hear these good news keep us posted if you hear anything back from Dave at AZC!!!

  4. I think you need to do a bit more research before you gona do this swap. Personally i have seen this swap done in shop that took about 3 months to complete. So if you got 2 days to do it in dont even try. There some things involved in moding an oil pan, plumbing for the i/c, custom exhaust piping including the downpipe and driveshaft. There is a place out in CA called Vildini Motorsports and the guy on this forum is name Alex "sr240z" his site www.sr240z.com check it out...

  5. Found some reference material:

    1982,-celica supra -$15,838

    1990-supra turbo-$25,200

    1994-supra twin turbo-$44,100!!!!!(almost double in 4years...)

    1986-300zx turbo(oldest one I could find)-$25,099

1996-300zxtwin turbo-$44,679 (see the pattern here?)

    1988-MR-2 supercharged-$17,068

    1995-mr-2 turbo-$29,238

    1988 RX-7turbo-$22,750

    1995 RX-7 twin turbo-$37,800

Amazing how the deaths of these cars coincides so nicely with their at least 50% increase in sticker price...

I could defenatlly see the patter here. One thing though that i have mentioned before that MR-2 wasnt taken out of the production because of its high retail value. Just like the NSX and probablly the RX-7, since Mazda agreed that they had problems with it. Cant say much about supra since a 98 Supra TT quick silver is still worth about 40-45 with about 20K on clock. Because simplly they didnt lose their value since they were brand new. So i guess i partially agree with you Max.

On the note of the thread i would probably say, that we should wait untill the release date of the Skyline and Supra and see their comparisons. It might be very explosive:flamedevi and powerfull !!! :burnout:But untill then il keep dreaming....

  6. Max i defenatlly agree with you on over pricing these sports cars. But that because there sports cars and everything is expensive in then, like parts, labor, insurance and etc. Toyota made a smart move with Nascar. But toyota and honda were the only ones that particapeted in building IRL, Champ Car which is American way of viewing Formula 1. So they have being doing this for quite some time now. Oh and they also want to realease a Police car with their avalon design fully equipted so there doing well in there advertisment. As far the cost of these sports cars they dont really depreciate in value and the production wont be that big of the mosters. So go figure if 50-70 grand will make a diffrent if people got the money they sure can afforded just like those that buy Vetts, Vipers and Porches.

  7. Wow guys, this is very touchy thread for what i can see. I am pretty sure we can all relate to this one way or the other. I sure defenatlly can since i was the same knuckle head when i went to school and i had 95 240sx that i was beating on learning how to drift and etc:burnout: just like most of us here...and then of coure bad things happend in a drift, i dont think i have to write up an explanation. Because its pretty much describing as you guys explained to the savagekid.

If you guys wana compare some bad cars i got one for you. After my 240 was Resting in peace. I got my hands on still dont know how i let that happend, well long story short. The car that i got was a 93 Chevy Lumina Euro edition. That had 235K on clock and leaked oil, over heat in traffic had no rear suspension, rusted inside out and i drove that thing for 3 years untill there was nothing left.:-D

As for the Savagekid i dont wana be a Judge on youre half and i dont think anyone here that posted something in youre direction. Basicly enough said live and learn from youre own mistakes and others, since we all have been there.

  8. Well i dont know much about it as far as pricing goes but i will give you an example since my friend is a Nissan dealer. Take 350z and G-35. The release of 350z was an incrediblle success in Japan and US. After a short while about a year came the G-35 in both versions couple and sedan, which were more expensive considering it was an Infinity and had leather heated seats, fully loaded with navigation. Which the 350z only came in a Track edition for about 36-38K brand new that had Brembos and Navigation. On the other hand you could of gotten a fully loaded G-35 coupe with everything listed above for 43-44K. You get the point...

So there will be same exact demand with the GTR being run under Nissan for a year and then swithcing over to Infinity for more $$$ on allmost the same car with a bit more options but same motor and drivetrain.

On the other note that Max brough why all these sports car were dieing out from production. It was simplly because Supra only made that far without flunking some emission problems and safety issues, same follows for the Acura NSX that couldnt make it to production for the same reason, also that will include the Toyota MR-2 the greates and the funnest car i had ever owned only made a run for 5 years.

I guess you get the picture WHY...

  9. I think that the mysterious skyline will change alot before it hits North American Nissan dealership. Just because the release date in Japan wont make a big impact on Skyline here in US, it will be diffrent from the Japanese version, i could be wrong. But we know for sure that the top model of the GTR will be 450 hp in V6 twin turbo. There will be other version of it like a Naturally aspirated V6 or V8, but the ultimate is 450 hp twin turbo with a price tag ticking over $70K for it.

  10. I wana hear some feedback on fitting this one piece G-nose on a Z. I wonder how much pain in the a$s this will be to fit. And it dosent look like they have headlight extensions and covers and also the hood hinges. But those insnt really a big problem to get i am pretty sure if i look hard enough il be able to find them.

Its sure cheap though $650 for the nose not that bad.

  11. WoW this is very nice, I think the price is good since the ones in Japan original G-Nose's go for 30-40K there that means this one is a steal deal right on money. Very nice Z is some one will buy it. Just simplly what everyone wants in there garage authentic Fairlady-Z G-Nose.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED WITH THOSE FENDER MIRRORS!?!?!

  12. That Supra sure looks nice, but not for $50K defenatlly not. On the other hand there saying that it should keep company to the new release of a Skyline which will be priced at around $70K and i dont know about comapring 2 of those since the Supra will be a V8 vs V6 and turbo or maybe 2 twin turbos. I cant wait my friend that works at the Nissan dealer ship promised me that they will have 2 of them unless they sell them before hand. Need to wait like another year oh well patience is everything.

  13. I dont really know much about naturally asspirated RB motors that well, just never had an intrest in something like that. But correct me if i am wrong. If you take an RB25 vs RB26 in non turbo setup they will pull same amount of power in naturally aspirated form. RB26 was design to with stand alot of abuse from boost that means HP vs Torque, in naturally aspirated form it will be feeding alot of torque so there will be some HP loss because of such a high displacement and it wont really make a big diffrence as a matter fact i dont think there will be any diffrence in between RB25 or RB26....the only diffrence is how much money will need to be spent.

  14. Holy s$$t!!! This is blazing fast turbo kit, i know you guys have been talking about street use, forget it that is defenatlly up for DRAG USE ONLY. I think more likelly you can mount the radiator a bit sideways covering the turbos, just like they do in RX-7's. But damw that thing is fast 7:50 on the track i wonder what his trap speed was...

  15. hey B, those are MSA street flares which are no longer made. I was thinking about selling the car.

but after watching the amount of people that took pics with my car id figure ill stick with it for a while longer.

Alex i really like the look of youre White Z i havent really seen it a whole lot on the net but it defenatlly looks very clean and the flares oh man i love those.

    Did you win anything???

  16. Sorry to hear about the race with the RX-8. I have driven it and its nothing special i mean as far as reving it very high and switching gears at the high rev since its the ONLY normal rotary that wont brake on you. But i might be wrong since there was so many banged up Rx-8 at the service lot, i would allmost say there is more of then then Evos at the Miysubishi dealer ship service lot. I highlly doubt that it might of had a turbo, but i might be wrong. The rx-8 just really opened up after about 90-100 and since you mentioned that it took off at around 110 probably if 4th he was pulling away because its just so light including the motor.

  17. I dont know if this is right but the shop that i have taken my car to. One of the mechanics told me that he can mount like 10 galon fuel cell underneath where the old fuel tank is. I dont know if thats a good choice as far as clerance goes, since the fuel lines would come out underneath any way. But thats alot more better then mounting it inside. No fuel smell open trunk for shopping and the spare tire in place. LOL so much for a race car...

  18. Hey guys, I might be able to help, i live in Deerfield IL still alittle bit far from Rockford IL but atleas were in same state. I dont really know how to handle this because i have no room on storing any of these cars even outside. But really want some parts off them if its a 260z want to grab those turn signals headlights if in good shape and a driver seat if not ripped and probablly will think about something on way.

So if i can help with this just give a buzz. Or give me the guys # so i can call him.
