  1. if you add HID to any car that didnt originaly come hid it is illegal, in CA that is. law passed in 2004
  2. I just about got my motor swap finished. I have long tube headers with 3" collectors on my chevy 350. How do you think a single 3" compares to dual 2.5" system? more low end? also doesnt a single 3" pipe flow more than 2 2.5" pipes? check it out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369
  3. whats most important is the output shaft of the trans and the pinion angles are parallel despite the diffrence in height. This cancels out the vibes
  4. Hi i wondering about useing a high flow sbc head on a less than ideal displacement block. i know if you want to run a 220cc head you really want to use a 383 or 400ci motor, for velocity reasons. but if you had a 305 or 350 and a turbocharger wouldnt the power gains be substantial? and doesnt the whole "port velocity" thing go out the window when useing a turbo? I ask this question because i was going to buy a set of heads and plan on running a pair of turbos. For about the same price as 180cc i can get the more flow more power 220cc heads what do you all think, thanks http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369
  5. dont expect to score very well in a FF car at a drifting comp
  6. VW bug is pretty hard to drift, but possible. and yeah they made old school bugs in mexico up intil about 5-6 years ago Edit, just noticed this thread is 4 months old, so who gives a ♥♥♥♥
  7. Rear: i run a 265/35/18 tire on an 18X9.5 wheel (tire is streched a little) Front: 225/40/18 (streched a bit more than the rear) tire on 18x8 wheel with a 35mm adapter/spacer no problem in the front whatsoever Rear i had to roll the fender lip, big baseball bat works good. Also, i dont think i could go bigger than 265 tire because im useing tokico 4" dia. springs.... i will be going to coil overs then i can run a 295 tire.. Edit: MSA said i couldnt fit those rims & tires, but i machined my own wheel adapters and showed them! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369
  8. i had a really hard time installing my seats also, i use a sledge to beat in the trans tunnel to get the seat over as far as possible and the door still rests on the seat when its closed, i have the same seat as jaysz but in carbon fiber. hey Jaysz do you know where to get replacement seat covers? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369
  9. bought the car for 900, redid everything b4 the v8 about $8,000 could have been double that but i did everything myself, now ive started to put the chevy 350 in and droped another 2500 so far so im already at 10.5k im doin the roll cage right now, i dont wanna die!
  10. thanks for the input... ill have another go at it this weekend.. the motor is sitting in the car but not bolted down, i might have to slot the xmember tower some more because my dist is damn close, actually i think i broke it when the trans sliped off the jack and dist slamed into the firewall... oh well i was gonna buy a small dia. msd or mallory
  11. after thinking about it, its the same thing.. just drill out the threads to use 7/16-fine thread and your just bolting in on instead of threading it on...but its still rubber mounted edit: and it would ease the install
  12. i had the idea to drill out those threads for some reason, but i think if cut out a small clearance "window" in the back of the plate i could hold onto a nut and washer and make it 10x stronger than threading into the mount?
  13. Hello, ive seen some jtr drivers side motor mount installed in two diffrent ways, one the alum spacer is bolted to the block directly or where the setback plate is on the block then spacer to OE chevy mount. First would the location be the same? second is there a disadvantage to either way? Oh and when you lower the eng down to the mouting holes you then bolt it threading into mount from under xmember correct? thx, a6t8vw http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369 280z type-3 body. sbc very soon
  14. 25mm adapter rear 35mm front.. tokico coils..4" my wheel offset was 38mm...planing on coil overs soon i want to be able to fit 275+ tire and lower it a bit more i did roll the lip with a 3" alum bar stock but not much
  15. for more info on the car goto http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2314369 thanks for the comments...
