$800 got the best 110v welder i you can get. Miller 135. got everything, cart, argon bottle, wire.. etc... works great upto 1/4 inch thick then you need to run 2 pass's but penetration is good... i built a long travel toyota prerunner, 3 exhaust systems and a bmw turbo down pipe so far and i can go anywhere with it since its 110v. The only problem i have is getting it back from my friends!! my cherry picker and welder seem to be on a waiting list from diffrent friends of mine! bastards.. Plague_oc im also in OC if you want to come check out my car and ask questions let me know! -

while i was doin the brakes i took a couple pics of my exhaust. I had some major oil/trans leaks that stained the whole underside of the car so please excuse the mess. its fixed now blockhuggers to 2.5" to magnaflow dual 2.5" inlet to single 3" out to rear where i have a dirty polished 3" summit muffler... system is very quiet by v8 datsun standards... if it wasnt for the intake you couldnt even hear me comin! pipes are a little low but i can clear MOST large speed bumps notice alum driveshaft... teaser

CANT FIND BANJO BOLT FOR 240sx rear caliper!
a6t8vw replied to a6t8vw's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
♥♥♥♥ i didnt even think of summit Thanks pop -
over the last week(s) ive been doing the popular 240sx rear caliper upgrade on my 280z.. i bought the parts at diffrent places, what a headache... do yourself a favor and just buy the MM kit... my car has been down for over a week and the only thing i need now is the damn banjo bolts that secure the brake line to the caliper.. so i went to kragen, autozone, and a couple other mom and pop auto parts places and i CANNOT find them! the banjo thread is M10X1.0... very fine thread.... i have no problem finding m10X1.5 but its too corse of thread.. I would like to buy new bolts but it looks like ill just have to go to the JY and get some used ones..... anyone have any luck finding these?

How to get more lift out of your stock heads
a6t8vw replied to a6t8vw's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Great info there guys. thanks very much... it just so happens i just bought a set of heads off the neighbors! they were rebuilt about 10 years ago and sat ever since, (acually i bought the whole motor) 4 bolt with forged pistons .03 over... but im going to disassemble the heads and do some "bowl porting" like pyro stated. I used to port/polish 2 stroke engines for a living years back so i have alot of porting skills but never a car cylinder head with valves and 100% CAST IRON! uggh. Right now i have more time than money lol so ill dust off the ol Foredom flex shaft grinding tool.... Anyone else got any porting experice/tips? -
wow what happened?

honestly i dont know what cam i want to run, but im about to install a holset H2 turbocharger, i dont know much about it but its about the same as a HX50. Fresh stock rebuilt 195 heads form a 73 truck. i know the're not the greatest but they were cheap.. With the dished pistons that came with this motor - with low 8.5:1 CR led me to the turbocharger. It was either that or i needed to change the pistons. Not that i really wanted a "turbo sbc datusn" because i know i could build a kick ass N/A motor to the same HP but ive always wanted to play with a turbo and since this is my project car here we go. but as far as the cam goes I really just want to move the powerband up quite a bit and get some good lift/duration for the forced induction im shooting for 450hp I was thinking this cam Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 274/ 292, Lift .487/ .501, Chevy, Small Block, http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA%2DCL12%2D564%2D4&autoview=sku thx, andy -
im running the stock radiator with my 355 and it sucks, with a 180 deg thermostat im 190 minimum.. and in traffic 215 degree.... two electric fans never turn off... so im upgrading to a summit racing alumimum crossflow radiator for $165. as far as the tires i had 245/60 on a 14x6 rim... now i have 265/35 on 18" stock suspension, just had to roll the lip in the rear to fix the rubing Dont know about the M/C my car is auto andy

maybe a simple question but i dont know, what is max lift for stock heads? does it come down to just valve springs? a friend said run Z28 valve springs and you can run .550 lift..? so my question is what can i do to my stock heads to run a .500" lift camshaft? andy -
Carb flange to 75mm Throttle body billet adapter
a6t8vw replied to a6t8vw's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
i dont have a pic but i got a wireframe model but i made its 2" tall and has a nice taper... i can make it 1" but the taper might not be as effective...but i dont see how it wouldnt work good... and i can get it to fit under the hood that would be great.... monday ill try to upload a pic of the wireframe -
Im in the process of making this part.. ive drawn it in the CAD/CAM and im about to machine it....but you know while i have the mill setup i can make a small batch if anyone is interested..ill sell em for $125 or so. but basicly it bolts to the intake manifold in place of a carb. its 1.5" or 2" tall and tapers from the carb flage 4150 to 75mm FOR TB. well thats what size im going to try on my car but you could give me your tb spacing and i could easly make 80mm 90mm 100 etc.. DOMINATOR flange also.. this part will be 100% billet 6061 t6 alum kellerd and ball milled 3D... and instead of having a 90% bend then TB it will bolt right on the intake and will use a silicone hose 90% bend...

Do it, a 240z/260z/280z with your motor would smoke your cobra in a race... and any motor swap is "custom" Also there are many ford powerd z cars on here you can get great info from. good luck!
