  1. I’m asking this here because this is a Z specific forum. I’m dressing a Rebello built 3.0 stroker for use in my 240Z. I’m using Haltech Elite 2500 and I’d like to do drive by wire. My intake is a 280Z that has been extrude honed. I have a TWM Big Throat throttle body but I’m open to anything that gets me drive by wire. What have others done? pictures for interest.
  2. And then I did this today... Hoke Trigger Wheel on Professional Products dampener.
  3. FYI, MSA just called me yesterday to tell me they got their shipment of the Performance Industries dampeners and wanted to know if I was still a go. Well ya!
  4. Using that excellent resource from NewZed, I have picked out some high impedance EV1 injectors that fit my calculated specs nearly perfectly. I discovered when researching them that they even have a nickname! Green Giant injectors!
  5. Got a part number or a year and model? I think I'm going to run with this too. Might as well take advantage of all the tech I can with this.
  6. So apparently, if I use the Supra injectors, they are high Z and don't require resistors. One of you says 10mm and the other 11mm rail though?
  7. On a slight High jack of my own thread, will MS3X fire the stock cold start injector? And yes, I realize that's not the original.
  8. I don't think so. I'm just putting together choices. You're the second to suggest this. As a bonus, a good friend is a Toyota parts manager!
  9. I calculate my new Rebello engines injector needs at 29.4# or 309cc. What have you guys used or can you suggest a reference. I'm just looking for options and opinions on what works. I have one suggestion from one of our Canadian members and I may go that direction but I always like to compare and contrast.
  10. Jacky, I'd love to see pictures of your build. Especially the Bosch MAF. I did manage to get one out of Ireland. So it would be cool to see how you set yours up. I was thinking I'd put a silicone house from the throttle body to the MAF, then more tubing, either stainless or silicone to in front of the radiator.
  11. Lancevance, Any idea what particular year 240SX would be best?my neighbor is the national sales manager for Autozone. He can get me whatever I want but says there are a couple of model numbers.
  12. Well, I managed to find and purchase a 0 280 218 019 HFM5. My dumpster dive at the Pick and Pull found lots of HFM5 but nothing with the proper housing size. Then I checked eBay and found one in Ireland at a pretty low price and free international shipping. So that's taken care of. What injectors are you using Jacky?
  13. Interesting. That part number actually comes out to be for a late 90's to mid 2000's Alfa Romeo... That looks like it will work for me as well. So 0 280 218 019 it is. Now for injectors. 30# by my calculations is what I need. What do you suggest?
  14. Yes, I have to get over to the pick and pull. The I.D. On my throttle body is 60mm. So I need a housing that will match up either nose to nose with the housing, or be adaptable with silicone tubing. Otherwise, my youngest it at Columbia in New York in a design program and we discussed him designing a housing and 3D printing it. I love the suggestion to use the Bosch HFM5. Three sensors in one. MAF, IAT, and barometric pressure. Add a MAP sensor and a TPS along with coolant temp and I should be good to go. Now if I could get Dave Rebello to advise me on the injectors I'd be almost there... what have you guys with 3.0 liter motors done? Dave usually gets back to me within a week when I ask emailed questions. It's only been a couple of days so...
  15. I use this method to set the rings on newly built motors, find a place with a straight section of flat road. It should be somewhere that you aren't going to piss people off. steadily, in second gear accelerate forward to 5K rpm. When you reach 5K, let off the gas and coast back down to idle. Do this 10 times or so and you should have the rings set. 80 miles isn't a whole lot of miles if you haven't consciously set the rings. Do the compression and leak down if this doesn't work. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.
  16. I like your suggestion to use the Bosch HFM 5 MAF. I spent today trying to buy one. Autozone and ORielly's were no help because if you can't tell them what car it's off of, they can't "replace" it. They have no concept of using a part like this on a Datsun Z as they never came with it. Summit was better. They made a valiant effort to find one. But they also don't really go by HFM5. Any idea what cars they were used on? My wife's BMW seems to have one that looks suspiciously like it, but she gave me stink eye when I tried to find the part number...
  17. I am able to find 3/8" NPT bungs easily. Not so much 12mm...
