  1. I havn't seen such a debate since the chevell forum thing last month. But I do have a scarab car that I'm in the process or converting to JTR specs. The reason I'm changing is three fold. 1. my z currently has a t350 transmission and driving it on the fwy gets alittle buzzy @65mph ,tachs at 3800 rpm. So i got a t56 for the overdrive.2.reducing the rpm will help my engine live a little longer and not heat up ,as easily. 3. the scarab position wouldn't let me mount that long trany in the tunnel, so that the shifter ends up in the stock location.handling isn't too bad, but the steering is heavy, Thats why I have a 15" sparco ralley steering wheel.Thats why I'm switching.Just my 3 cents.Oh by the way OMAR my e-mail service wasn't working right. I think I fixed it, I check tonite. See ya.
  2. the poly mounts are made by Prothane. PN#7-509 there for a chevy truck 63 to 72 w/350. I think the 6 cyl version is the same. I got mine from suspension.com ther fone num#209-578-5101.AS far as vibration issue, there is more being transmited to the cabin and steering wheel, I'd say on a scale from 1 to 10 rubber being 3 and urethane 6. But if you see how much that engine moves when you rev it, you understand why I feel better with urehtane. Just my 2 cents.
  3. your probably right about getting what you pay for,RXO510.I ran the car for 8 months with the rubber mounts then changed to the ureathane for the piece of mind.Nothing wrong with them(the mounts) It's just a bummer to have broken mounts when your 40 miles from home.
  4. ya omar I did rip both motor mounts. as for the rubber versions try car quest in west covina, off the san berdo fwy.they have them for 8 bucks. can't go wrong with that price?
  5. You can get urethane motor mounts from prothane in costa mesa calif.there phone number is 1-888-prothane. or try www.suspension.com ther phone is 1-209-578-5101 they sell them at $75 pair.hope this helps.
  6. I was looking though my cheltons repair manuel on my wife's 91 stanza, and noticed that the rear end of a 86 to 88 200sx turbo had a similar setup as a zx's? Heres my question can the axle and CV's fit to a r200 from a 280z? I tried the search but could'nt find an answer. Thanks guys.
  7. Gr8 responce guys. Keep it coming.I,m glad i found this site, Telling all my friends about it. Keep the rubber side down.

  11. I forgot to add you SHOULD add a 14 gauge fusable link to the large white-red wire to protect the car should a short the alt. develops a short.
  12. hi guys, hope this helps. on the 240z the black and white wire comes from the ignition switch to the terminal 1 on the alt, there has to be a diode in that line if you are NOT conecting a 12v lamp.if you are using a lamp, an indacter bulb like a 194 can be used. as long as its NOT a light emitting diode. terminal 2 is a constant 12v,that one you can be connected to the large output post of the alt.terminal 1 is closest to the output post.finally the large white and red wire goes to the output post. black goes to ground.again hope this helps

  14. Just picked up a hot rodding mag today, An artical mentions the advantages of cryogenicly treating parts. items such as axels, heads, blocks. What about the stub axels and u-joints that seem to be the weak link on our v8 z's . Any opinions? This is the best site bar none. Thanks guys.
  15. sorry guys I,m new to the forum can't seem to go back to home.I just keep adding more replay HELP! I got another question to pparaska did your TB come witha spacer sleeve PN#1429? also how do I keep the Adjusting collar or adj-screw from backing in or out? again sorry for the repost's.

  17. blkmgk. The transmission is suppose to be a replacement conversion for the camero with the t5. Check out Fortes Parts connection website for more info. hope the clears your question. and thanx scca for the info. One quetion to scca though. Is the pedel stiff as pete p. had mentioned? he used a 3/4" gerlin. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
