  1. Hi all. I'm considering a 383 build to replace my 350. Getting info from different places. I'm thinking along the lines of this. scat forged crank and 4340 6 inch I beam rods. KB164 pistons w 19cc dish w/polished tops.total seal gapless rings. AFR 195cc heads milled to 58cc chambers to keep it at 10 to 1 compression ratio.edelbrock RPM intake.I'm thinking of these parts to increase effiectcy. dish piston for better flame travel and thermal properties.the 6 inch rods for the better rod ratio. the rings for the incresed seal?the small ccombustion chamber for the squesh and turbulance effects. I'm I getting close grumpy? Any info or suggestions from anybody else? . Just thinking out load. Thanks guys.
  2. Hay Mr Big B. I think your in the right track. the tpi engines from 87 through 91 have that distributer. Maybe Grumpy Vette can confirm this. but 99% sure. Have fun
  3. Hi 660z you can try Electromotive HPX system.. I just priced it at Top End Performance for $675.00 Electomotive
  4. Hi Phantom. If you don't have the R200 yet get the whole rear end w/CV joints from a 87 /88 280zx turbo or some 280zx 2x2 had CV's .Some other member's are modifing R230's try the search function in the driveline section, you'll find a ton of other options. But the r200 w/CV's are basicly a bolt-in.
  5. Thanks for the repleys guys. One more question please . What does the computer 1/4 miler say. 2800lbs. 6 speed w/2.97 first gear. 3.70 rear. 26inch tall drag radials. Hi jt1 ,that sound's exactly what I wanted to hear on drivability. Thanks for releying that. Any other guys w/ similer combos? as they say . Too much is J u s t enough.
  6. Hi there Grumpy. I havn't seen you post for a while, so I wan'ted to ask you if you could run me a sym. dyno run on a combo for me? here it goes. 350 ci chevy 10.1 comp. trick flow twisted wedge heads 200cc. W/64cc chambers. single plane wieand G manifold w/divider. comp cams 276hr-14. I think the specs on the cam are 276 intake 290 exh @ avdert. 220 and 230 @ .050 and .510" lift on both int and exh. and 114 degrees lobe sep. exh. 1 5/8" block huggers. how would it idle.what are your thoughts on it's drivability? Thanks.
  7. Hi Zfan. I do have a stealth manifold with a 3" drop base filter. I do like it. Torgue sarts a t a low 2500 to 2600 rpm on my stock zz motor. I also used a 1/4-20 nut instead of a wing nut to gain a little more room. I do know what you mean by getting a much room as you can.I but a wing nut on and dinged my hood the first time I closed it.
  8. hay fairlady 327. I'm sure they can be used. I installed some 7" round units from moon industries.they fit fine. BUT you should upgrade the wiring harness by installing 2 relays, one for high beems , and one for low's, or else you'll burn out your head light switch and wiring under the dash.P.S. They do make a huge difference for night time driving.Later.
  9. hi 400ci. You can try a aftermarket T56. they will fit a t10 or a T5 bolt pattern bellhousing. I got mine from fortes parts. I beleive they can make them fit mopars, fords, and even AMC. Good luck.
  10. once again, grumpy come's through. I don't know what we would do without you grumpy. Thanks for being here.
  11. one of the things in the 3rd picture is the flasher for your turn signals.it's the round one. Im not sure ofd the square one, sorry.
  12. you might try fortes parts or darkhorse. forteparts or darkhorseperformance . good luck.
  13. sounds like the same problem I had with my wilwoods. Had wilwood tan pads. squeeled like pigs. Tried the same anti-queel goop. and the bevel thing, no go. I called wilwood direct, they said It's the nature of setup, live with it.Finally brokedown and bought EBC green pads on advise of a local autocross club. They reduced the squeel 95%. still have some noise, but only in the morning when the pads are cold. after a couple of miles of driving ,noise goes away. good luck.
  14. I hate to see a post a unanswered. so here it goes. I beleive the z31 front hub moves the front wheels out 1.25 inches from the stock location. I have coilovers as well and 1 have 5.75 inchs of clearce in the rear fenders.I have 8's in the rear with 5 backspaceand I still have another 1/2 inch clearence so the 8.5 inch wheels you like will probably fit. I don't think the 9s will without carefull measuresments. Check out Pete's site. If I only knew how to provide a link,I would.sorry. or try jeromio's site, They both have very useful info. Good luck on your quest for 9's.
  15. Thank you Grumpy. You answered all my questions. Even ones I should have asked.I knew I came to the right place. Thanks Again.
  16. Hi grumpy. I have a sbc with a engine suffix code of CC. Its a one piece rear main seal,4 bolt block with a cast crank. The heads on it have casting number 14011083 w/64cc chambers. My question will the heads flow enough for a larger cam? I was thinking along the lines of a Comp Cams Hydro Roller XR270HR? My second question is How can I check to see If I have enough Retainer clearence. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
  17. Welcome aboard Ljohnson. I have the radiater. It works great. The rad fits with bottom and top supports as per the JTR manuel. Well have fun.
  18. HI RON240zxt. I think you have to separtate the relays to run both High beams on one relay, and the low beams on another. Not one relay for left and one for right. I'm not sure if the 240z are wired different than the 280zx's but on the 240 the light switch grounds out when you want the lights to turn on.Power is constantly supplied to the back of the light. So with that in mind you have to supply 12v to one side of the coil of the relay and then connect the original wire(red.Red/yel)to the other side of the coil to compltete the circuit, since the the original wire(red)actually grounds out.I hope i didn't confuse you.Hope this helps.
  19. Where and how much was the DTA systems? Any dealers in the U.S. Thanks.
  20. hay RON240 you might want to check ELECTROMOTIVE's web site I think they have a wiring diag. that can help.Sorry I can do a web link for you. If could I would.

  24. hay ZROSSA. I looked in my book SBC parts interchange Manuel by Ed Staffel, Couldn't find that part number . The closest PN# was 3947041 . It said it's 69 to70 model year. There should be a date code under the casting number. Like 1 11 8 . All info i'm relaying i'm quoting from my book. So I just don't know for sure? Anybody out there that can shed some lite to ZROSSA?
