  1. I had the hatch lock rekayed to match the new locks, and I paid a whopping 25 dollar's for 2 door locks. And a total bolt-in guys.
  2. Hay Owen , I,ve used door locks from autozone. For a 81 nissan maxima. that was the oldest nissan in there book. Fits perfect. I only hAD The hatch lock rekeyed to match by a locksmith.
  3. The cost of the cell was $354.00. I bought it at Earls' in Torrance California.
  4. The cell is actually on the small side. I had to fab 2 side holders, about 2 inch's wide to fill the gap. The question about assembly puzzel's me? When I recieved it , it was fully assemble. I did have to take it apart to weld an extention tube to the stock gas door location. It was very straight forward, diassembly wise. When I thought of doing this, I didn't research the NHRA rules that you have to have a steel or an aluminum barrier between the driving compartment and the fuel cell. I may have to make a shelf to contain, and or devide the driving compartment from the fuel cell. Can anybody tell me what the NHRA rules say about that. And what I can do?Thaks guys.
  5. Hi Guys, Hi Mat73gnz I never got your email. What would you like to know about the well cell?
  6. Hay niceguy. I noticed nobody answered you post. Probably no one has that particular flare set at this forum. But if my memory serves me right, the VB cataloge saids 3.5 inch's rear, 2.5 inch's front. You can call VB and talk to them about there recommendations? Good Luck.
  7. Hi Tomohawk. The Miata rack is about 1/2 inch thicker, The driver side mount has a fat bottom forming a "D" shape. That's whats keeping it's from rotating. If you go to my yahoo page , Look at the picture of the miata rack trial fit. On the floor in the back ground you'll notice a rubber bushing that look's like a sway bar bushing. It's not. It's the passenger side rubber isolator from the miata. I hopr that answer's your question?
  8. I forgot to add get bulb location "C" when you order.
  9. http://http"//www.mcmaster.com look at page 3181, item number 1120A33 This Item was recommended by Pierre Z in Hawthorne Calif. They did some of the Z restorations a few years ago. so I trust there recommenation. Oh I forgot, They are for the door seals. you need 11 feet per door. McMaster-Carr sells the seals in 10,25,50,100 feet so you have to order the 25 foot roll. hope that helps. At least for the door seals.
  10. Hi TomoHawk. your right. when I bought rack, the guy at the counter checked in a reference manuel that did say 90 thru 95 racks wre the same. I'm not sure of the 96-97 differnces? The distance of the stock Z mounts are 10 1/4 inches. The distances of the mounts for the Miata was 16 inches, but the passenger side mount can be moved inward to match the Z mount. Does anyone have a spare crossmember that I can purchase locally? I went to 2 pick a parts and no Z's in either of them? Only 280zx and 300z.
  11. I just got in. That measurment that glen requested is 27 inches from inner the tie rod joints. My stock one is 25 1/4 inches. Hope that helps Glen. By the way what are thinking? Possably exchanging the inner tie rods? It might work I'll check on that tonight.
  12. You have two choices.either file fit rings or pre-gaped rings. if file fit rings .035 for a .030 over bore.Usually file fits are .005 over the bore size, then you file the ring gap to the manufactures recomendations.Pre-gaped rings are odered at the size of the overbore. .030 to .030 , .040 to .040 and so on. Hope that helps.
  13. O.k. guys I'll try thishttp://photos.yahoo.com/bc/graphequ@pacbell.net/lst?.dir=/zcar&.view=t
  14. Hi guys, sorry it took so long to respond, but my computer took a dump Had to go and buy a new one. Anyway the latest on the rack is that the mounting on miata rack has a flat bottom, kinda like a D-shape as apposed to the Z rack being round. The second issue is that the area around the input shaft of the miata rack is hitting the motor mount stand. I,m getting a spare crossmember to experiment with. I got pictures , Look to the second page to see
  15. Well I'm just stoked. I was at a auto recycler this week looking for mirror's for my z, when a came across a 95 mazda miata. the mirror's are a perfect fit because a 260 was a few car away to test fit them to. Anyway the miata had the engine remove when I saw that the rack was complete with pump and hoses. A quick measurment of the mountinf tabs they where 2 inches of to the passinger side. bot when measured between the boots it was a perfect match to that 260.Then the big surprise came when I removed the rack assymbly the passenger side mount was movable it was a perfect match again . all I have to do is cut both sides of the rack by 3 or 4 inches, Anyhow I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them this weekend . Dare I say it finally a almost bolt in rack? will see.
  16. You might try The Zbarn. They say they have 400 z cars.Try a yahoo search.
  17. Hi Racin-Jason. I think, if I'm reading the wiring diagram crrectly there should only be 1 battery cable to the starter. The previous owners must have bypassed the fusebox. If you post your address I'll mail you an enlarged wiring diagram, maybe that can help? Later.
  18. Hi Jason, Sorry to tell, but no 17x8's won't fit with stock coils. I had 17x7 centerlines with 4 inch backspacing .they fit with stock susp. I mounted them with 235-40x17 Kumo tires. You have to roll the lips of the fenders. Now that I converted over to coilovers 17x8 fit in the back with plenty of clearwnce.
  19. Hi Zya. They should fit fine I have a set of 17x8 centerline's with 5 inch backspace. with about an 1 3/8in space to my coilover's adjusting collor. Although I did have to roll the finder lip in the rear to get it to clear. I'm using a Kumho 712 tire 255-40x17, I hear different tire manf.dimensions are not all the same.
  20. You can try McMaster-Carr Supply Co. They are a big warehouse full of stuff.
