Thanks, ill see if it works. If I mess up the wiring at all, could I hurt the dizzy?
-
Well the one I have has a square plug on the bottom of it(which I don't have), and has a dust sheild cover inside of it under the rotor. If that helps any.
-
I under stand that, I don't have the wiring harness from the dizzy. My plug/wiring is missing from my dizzy. So I just have the 4 prongs off the dizzy. I'm trying to figure out what prongs are what.
-
yes i know what wires go where from the dizzy to the msns harness.... BUT i dont have the dizzys connector/pigtail. so i have the 4 prongs on the dizzy, and i dont know which one is what.

I have a 280zx turbo dizzy from what i think is a 83, but i dont have the plug with the Red, White, Green, and Black wires. So im not sure which prongs are what to use for my MSnS system. i searched but didnt find anything on this subject. i have a older 2.2 board. no relay board if that helps any. thanks

Can anybody please look at there dizzy to see what prog go to what wire. I'd really like to start this car.
-
Ya I don't have any of those cars to look at. I know which wires go where on the MSnS harness, I just don't have the plug with the factory wires coming out of the dizzy. Any help would be great, as that's all that's stopping me from starting my z. Thanks again.

Whats the thread pitch on fittings needed for the pallnet fuel rail?
LamboZ replied to LamboZ's topic in Fuel Delivery
I dont have my fuel rail handy, its in storage along with everything else. I posted the 3/4" NPT because i found a post of Pallnets on zcar that had those specs. But like Pallnet says above you, his 2 rails use different size fittings. I got my order changed, and ill be getting my 1/4" NPT -8AN fittings soon. -
Yes, I would and have in the past.
-
I say keep at it, and see how fast you can go with the setup you have. If you don't have the cash for a better setup, why have a Z thats taken apart and not running? I say keep the car running as long as you can, and just save up/buy parts over time.

Stay way from the AP2 (2.2L motor) models of the S2000's... those motors just suck for driving. the F20C is alot more fun, and usable motor on the track.

crap... i just bought 3/4 NPT. ill email the company and see if i can swap my order for some 1/4 NPT, as mine is smooth. thanks -
99% sure thats not a bracket for the turbo, thats his strut tower brace.

So i found it out. 3/4"NPT. Atleast thats what Pallnet said in a post on zcar.com I found some fittings on summitracing.com as jegs didn't have any. -
There's been a few 510's with F20C in them, and every one ive seen or been in HAS ripped. Now those 510's were under 2000lbs, and had alot of money/time put into them. It would make a great swap, and I have thought about doing it before. Only concern I had when I thought about doing it was shifter placement. To really get the most out of the Z handling wise with this motor, you would have to bring that motor as far back as you can, which would bring the shifter in a weird place. Also there would have to be some tranny tunnel work. Now all that can be fixed with alittle thought and some beer though. It would make for a nice road racer, thats for sure.

Also I dont think the Pallnet rail is 3/8 NPT... because isnt that what the JSK unit uses? And those fittings don't fit on the Pallnet rail. -

Im sure I can, but I rather just have a NPT to -8AN fitting off the rail to connect to my fuel lines. Why spend money on a adapter and then another fitting? Plus I want a clean install. I had -8AN fittings on my old JSK fuel rail, but the thread pitch is different on the 2 rails, hence the need for new fittings. -

Well all my fuel lines on my car are already -8AN, so thats why I need -8AN. And I didn't want to re-tap this fuel rail. -
Remote style turbo setup, size piping question
LamboZ replied to LamboZ's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Clifton - No picture sorry. Like I said this is a custom manifold, so where my turbo sits on this manifold it hits a few things. Also its not a GT35R. Its bigger but size wise its close so I just said a turbo that many people know about. WizardBlack - I was thinking that but the manifolds flange is a T4 and the turbos flange is a T3. So the flange openings are different size's. Thats why I wasnt sure on the 2.5 or 3in. Ill just do 2.5" and see how the turbos spools. -
Remote style turbo setup, size piping question
LamboZ replied to LamboZ's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Yes its on a L28 and in a 240Z. I would love to provide pictures but no luck on a camera. Best way I can discribe is my turbo is too big in size for where it would sit on my custom manifold. It allows no room for the 4in downpipe, it hits the brake lines, and also hits my intake manifold. So I would like to take a pipe and go from where the turbo WOULD sit on the manifold and bring the pipe foward so that the turbo can sit alittle higher and right near where the factory radiator sits (on the side of it). I have a custom radiator that isnt as wide to allow me to do this. I guess you can say it's almost a setup like how the V8 guys turn there headers around and bring them both into one pipe. which that pipe is towards the front of the engine bay. Im just not sure on what size piping to use. 2.5 or 3in. Im sure it will make a difference and rather just do it right the 1st time. Sorry if im not making much sense. -
Im NOT talking about a STS style turbo kit. I have a custom tubular exhaust manifold thats all equal length, but the turbo im running is too big for the area it sits in. So I wanted to make a pipe that goes from the flange on the manifold and bring it foward to mount the turbo up front where the radiator sits (much like how the unlimited street tire mustang guys do with there turbo setups). Im sure a bigger size pipe would mean more lag, so I wanted to do this correctly. The turbo is close to size of a GT35R, the manifolds piping is 1.25in's each, the flange on the turbo is a T3, the downpipe size is 4in. I was think using either a 2.5in or a 3in pipe from the manifolds flange to the turbo would be good, I just don't know which one would be the best. What do you fella's think? Thanks ahead of time for all help given!

thanks, i guess ill drop the motor in.
