ARTIC WHITE, black flares and wing

it has 390 embles on the fenders and the motors valve covers say thunderbird so i thinks its a 390 engine.. as far as mods i dunno yet my dad has to decide its his car.Im just fixing it.

I seen trucks on the streets that try to do the same 2 tone fade they don't look good.. This is what a nice 2 tone fade paint should look like... a nice soft 2 tone fade. I think that blue and white color would look good if done like the fade on the picture.

i dropped the suspensions parts at the powder coating shop cost for everything is going to be $250 dollars suspension parts are going to be RED BARON. and the four springs are going to be black. Im going to go pick them up tomorrow i;ll post some pictures....

im going to go with powder coating i think is going to be cheaper. cost for sandblasting all the suspension parts is $80 at kenny sandblasting in el monte,CA 1 day turn around great. As for powder coating im going to go with RED SUSPENSION PARTS. I want something that will stand out under the black undercoating....

i believe cadmium plating is more corrosion resistant than the zinc plating

Hello im trying to decide wether to powdercoat the suspension or cadmium plate the suspension. Here are some pictures of cadmium plating suspension of a 240z

Do you have to remove the bushing outer metal shell or just the rubber part. cause i just started to hack the metal part with the saw.. if so what can i do to fix this? thanks

^^YES they are rechromed. Here are some parts i got plated.

Here are some pictures of the rear bumper center and sides i got the front but i did not want to unwrapp it to much hassle.. they came out good no holes. Tomorrow going to pick up the hood hinge in yellow zinc platingand some other stuff.

Just finish installing z32 seats looks great also i tested the driver side electric seat it also works yeaaaaaaa. Here are some pics...height of seats is 35" they fit perfect

Im no welding professional but i just welded the holes in the hatch were the datsun 240z embles go because im installing a BRE style wing, its pretty easy just don't let get to hot, don't try to weld the whole hole at once. jump from hole to hole....

For paint alone like me i got PPG white paint i spent 799.39..2 stage. Plus $600 to have it painted. Plus other sanding materials,guns.If you have the time do it your self. I while back i went to a body shop in monrovia,CA they do good jobs i seen alot of mustangs and classic cars. So there work is good I went and ask how much the average paint job was and she said"Prices start at $5,000". They were working on a mustang fastback $10,000 on bodywork.

Today I went to get a quote to get my 1971 240z front and rear bumpers re-chrome and to fill all the holes were the rubbers bolt too. the front bumper was cracked and it was bent. So he quote me for $250 a piece so $500 for the 2 he said he'll have them in 2 to 3 weeks.. I'll post pics when I get them back. Is that a good price? I got quoted for the victory red $1449 not exactly 49 its around that price that included all the 2 gallons for red, 1 gallon of clear hardener reducer. An for the arctic white i got it for $ 799.39 just as above with 2 gallons of DELTRON 2000 DBC arctic white at $230.31 a gallon compare to $ 530 not that exact price but it was in the high $500eds. I got the paint from D'angelos in corona,CA my dads' friend son works there.Great guy for advise and since i work late i can just order by phone and pick it at his house, since he lives about 3 miles from my house. Im not going to spray it my self my dads' other frind works at a upholstery shop same work i do..they have a big compressor and a dryer.. They also have an open spray booth where they paint the furniture, im going to paint it there. He himself is painting a early 90's corvette and a 1947 chevy coupe that his restoring.. As far as charging me he said $600 bucks and a IN n' out burger with grill onions. Im goin to spend on total paint job is $1399.32 plus other accesories tape,mask, paint jumpsuit, ect. about the same price i was going to paint for just the red paint

US model 240z did not come with fender mirrors they only came with one driver side mirror

JDM fender mirror are about $300 to $400 dollars best luck to look on ebay thats were you can find them theres some other cheaper bullet style mirrors for about $50 buck each or cheaper. for the genuine look JDM fender mirrors..

well i order the ARCTIC WHITE 2 gallons, 1 gallon clear and the other chemicals.PPG paint of course...for a grand total of $799.32 i saved about $600 dollars if i would have gone with the VICTORY RED color.. going to go pick it later tonight...I know a guy that works there very helpful person goin to his house to pick up.
