^This.
Based on your description of just wanting to lower it a little and being cost conscious, take a look at this option: http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/117631-new-s30-shock-and-spring-option/
The second page shows a before and after ride height shots on a 240.
These are very well priced. You can get Stagg springs and Vogtland shocks for $294: http://brandcarparts.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?dir=desc&order=price&q=260z
I don't know of a better priced option for all four corners. There's more involved, though, than just replacing shocks and springs. You should also be checking all bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar end links, etc. These things can add up quick.

I did similar research and was going to use the same kit with my AZ Z manifold. Subscribed.

I remember Warren had draglites on his white 280zx at DNI.

Yeah, that's the MSA type 1 air dam for a late 260z or any 280z.

I want dibs on the current motor
-
No, they're never really done.
-
That's extremely cool. Is there a date I can put on my calendar for when this one will be on the market?
-
Very nicely done! Lots of really cool details.

Those wheels and tires look so good.

Motamec makes BSPT to AN adapters. There are other companies that do, as well. However, I believe all the fittings for the thermostat housing are metric. The temp sending unit is M16 x 1.5, for example.

On mine I drilled out the hole in the insulator so that the threaded portion of the cartridge would fit through. Then I used a strap wrench to hold the shaft of the cartridge while tightening the nut down with the insulator in place.

I probably have a few more pics. if anyone wants to see..
Keep them coming

I want your heavy exhaust.

What's in your 350 crate motor? Can you post your time slip?

Buy this manual and read it cover to cover: http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Datsun_Z_V-8.html
It will answer all your questions and more.

How about plastidip?

I'm not sure of another vendor on the east cost. You should post in the Parts Wanted section of the Classifieds.

I've only found one guy so far that's documenting an install with the Dirty Dingo bolt-in kit. His build thread showing pics of the kit installed is here: http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1737523-another-ls1-swapped-books-76-datsun-280z-3.html
It's pretty clear the alternator won't fit on the lower driver's side. It would be nice to know if the JTR headers will work, but he's going custom full length headers.

Looks like he may have already bought a car based on this avatar image.

18racing.com currently lists the 17x8.5 options at $899 per set for RKR's, though not sure about availability:

The bolt pattern for AZC 5 lug is 5 x 4.5".

Very nice. I love the color and love the wheels. Engine bay looks very clean. Well done.
For your photos, you can rotate them in Windows Photo Viewer or MS Paint in Windows before uploading them. On a Mac, you can use Preview to rotate.

Did you check the ignition/electrical section of the FAQ?
There's a thread there specific to the column wiring, with painless info and general info on what's what : http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/29786-painless-harness-to-z-column-harness-headlight-combo-switch/
